Principles of healthcare ethics
The field of healthcare is challenging as it involves an encounter with different patients and doctors in matters of emergency. Some guidelines control and provide terms of the operation of the health officers in all health care centers. The four principles of health care ethics issue proper directions of making decisions and caring for patients. To salvage the situation of John to normalcy, the physicians need to adopt autonomy, beneficence, nonmaleficence, and justice as stipulated in the principles of health care ethics.
The principle of autonomy requires that the physicians will advise john but should allow John to take control of his body (Ashcroft & Richard, 4). He should not be coerced to choose whether the decisions of the physicians will be to the best interest of medical practice. The principle is essential to his safety and secures his personal feelings that would otherwise affect recovery.
With beneficence, the physicians should use their knowledge and skills to assist John in any situation of need to benefit the patient (Ashcroft & Richard, 6). They must apply the most current understanding of medical practice to save the condition of John.
The theory of non-Maleficence is the best of all the approaches where any intention of the physician to do any harm to the surrounding is in disregard of the ethics (Ashcroft & Richard, 7). The decision of the physician should not harm other people or even a society if it were made in the interest of the patient.

The principle of justice will call for fairness in the distribution of all the resources of the healthcare center (Ashcroft & Richard, 7). The physicians must consider applying pertinent laws and legislation to make the right choice for John’s medication.
In conclusion, the principles of health care ethics provide a foundation in which patients will get the right medication without interference. The physicians dealing with the critical condition of John will have to apply the principles to manage the situation. Therefore all medical practitioners need to use proper ethics as outlined in the policies to assist patients in critical condition.
