In almost every aspect of our life, we have encountered various problems. This aspect has been witnessed in workplaces, schools, and the social settings. Problems are depicted to be the center of what we always encounter or do in every. In as much as we may help in solving the problem, address an issue for either internal or external client, and discovering avenues to solve new emerging problems appropriately, we should acknowledge that the intensity, complexity, and difficulty of the problems that we always encounter vary (Boggs & Cook, 1992). To be your manager, one should conceptualize with avenues for solving issues in life. A confident problem solver will always result in success.
The ability to be confident emanates from having the in-depth knowledge about the approach that should be given to a specific problem. Without following comprehensively the prescribed ways and steps of solving the problem, one is likely to give a wrong approach to issues that eventually leads to poor performance especially as depicted in an educational system. The process of problem-solving entails an orderly follow-up of the steps to attain a solution that bears no harm or consequences after that.
Many a time, we have encountered difficulties in helping our children through their assignment or project task. Some parents may feel shy to engage in the child’s homework or assignment a factor that will lead to poor grades among the children.

A parent may have an in depth idea about the child’s project and fell withdrawn to help their children through (Boggs & Cook, 1992). This notion should be discouraged since the child will keep on making the same mistakes that a parent ought to have handled in the preliminary stage of learning. Helping our children through their projects is vital and should not be treated as an academic crime. Below is a six-step problem-solving approach that I designed and applied to help your child through his project. Having read his assignment sheet, I realize that he was not on the right track, and hence I had to come in to help get higher grades and affect knowledge in him as well. In doing this, I decided to employ basic six steps that have ever worked for me in handling issues to do with educational problem solving. The steps follow an order, and one cannot violate the precepts by attempting to pass a single step lest inaccurate information may results. Below are six steps that I employed in helping my child through his project.
These steps include defining the issue or problem, analyzing the cause of the problem, initiating alternative solutions, selection of a solution, implementation of the solution, and eventually evaluating the outcome.
Defining the problem
This step gives a broad overview of the situation at hand. It helps in fitting the information together just like the pieces of a puzzle. In this stage of solving a problem, I will identify myself with the problem and involve my son as well to help him learn the scope of the project. This step will help us determine the extent to which the issue is widely shared in the academic field (Boggs & Cook, 1992). I will apply the use of brainstorming in this stage and questioning my son to gather information about what they have been exposed to in school. This step will enable us to review and discard the statement of the issue hence help the Lerner conceptualize with the symptoms of the underlying issue/project. A tentative definition of the issue is then reached, as the son will have a wider view of the underlying problem.
Analyzing the cause of the problem
Having an in depth idea about the parameters of the problem, I will, therefore, begin to collect the information that will help in handling the situation at hand. Various strategies may be employed to help determine the nature of the problem (D’Zurilla & Goldfried, 1971). Learning to know the importance of the project in my son’s course will help him with the vast idea on the importance of the project and thus gaining a lot of insight even in handling the project. Understanding the cause of the issue is very vital since the child will have to know the application of the project even to his daily life.
Initiating alternative solutions
After having the knowledge about the nature of the problem, I will have to seek for avenues of developing alternative solutions to help my son with the project. I will have to jump to a particular solution to the issues so that the problem can be narrowed and ambiguity is reduced. I will ensure that I exploit every possible solution within my reach before reaching the conclusion. Through this, I will be foster him with even more idea about the task that underlies (Draze & Tornquist, 2005). I will formulate many potential solutions as possible. Notably, I will ensure I attribute every solution to the specific problem that is underlying to keep track with the best solution so far. In this state, I will incorporate the similar or related options to come comprehensively out with a viable conclusion. In this stage, I will not select my final solution since further analysis will be required for comparisons.
Selection of a solution
In this step, I will evaluate each possible solution putting into account their weaknesses and strengths. The best solution, in this case, is that which will help my son top conceptualize with the learning course of the project. The best solution will be that which is easy for him to understand in the attempt of analyzing the project.
Implementation of solution
Choosing the best solution does not ultimately solve the issue or task. Implementation of the solution chosen is therefore very crucial in the educational system. This stage involves putting the selected solution in action that has always proven difficult just as selecting the best solution for the problem. I will always guide my child in putting the learned procedure into practice. I will expose him to a wider view of the similar task that are likely to arise shortly.
Evaluation of the results
Evaluation only means monitoring or assessing the learners after having gained an in-depth knowledge about the topic or learning process. In this case, I will evaluate the extent to which my child has gained the knowledge about his project. I will give more test to determine his competency and efficacy once faced by such project again. Evaluation is a crucial step in solving the problem since it reflects on the learner’s ability after the exercise.
Conclusion
Ideally, parents should not shy off from getting involved in their children’s assignment. They are supposed to spend even more dollars in purchasing items for their children’s studies. This factor will enable the children to feel a sense of belonging as they project their parents to be their role models. Indeed, this is a phenomenon that will ensure higher grades in academic institutions. Parents must always employ the six steps in analyzing the problem that underlies.
