Psychological Support and Health Education
Disaster preparedness and a response is important in mitigating the adverse effects of a disaster on the health of the community. The level of integration in the healthcare services with each other contributes to the overall community’s health and it’s resilience to withstand a disaster. Psychological support and health education happen long after a disaster occurs. Community health nursing through the effort of nurses ensures the whole family is in good health. The traumas faced by a family on lose of loved ones and property and witnessing the death of friends and family may destabilize a family or an individual causing them to enter into a depression. Disasters cause a reduction in the physical health of survivors who sustain injuries leading to an increase in chronic diseases and a decrease in access to required health services (Samira Sadat POURHOSSEINI, 2018). A recovery plan encompassing health education and psychological support goes a long way in trying to restore the victims to their earlier state.
The state provides for community health nurses that are actively involved and well trained to control and restore balance in the face of a disaster. Through providing health education on the kind of advice to injured victims and those providing care to those who have been rendered incapacitated, community nursing looks out for the health of the entire population. Nurses prevent fatalities and take time to interact and counsel victims to avoid extreme cases of mental illness that may occur easily if a victim lacks a person or people to take care of them.

Wait! Psychological Support and Health Education paper is just an example!

Through community, nursing nurses provide access to drugs and advice on the right diet while closely monitoring the progress of the victim. They are involved throughout the disaster preparedness and mitigation cycle ensuring individuals, family and community to respond and recover (Clark, 2015).
Psychological support offered helps prevent immediate psychological distress and long-term mental health problems. Running of psychological support centers long after the occurrence of a disaster gives the community a chance to gradually understand and get over the fear and anxiety experienced during a disaster. Frequent visits to this centers help members of the community to interact and talk to specialists about their experience, worries, and concerns making them feel and know they are not alone. With time these victims gather the courage and strength to go back to their lives and exist with other members of the community (“Psychological support for children and young people | PLYMOUTH.GOV.UK”, 2018). After the great Japan earthquake mental health care efforts for the public had to be incorporated to help restore the public to their former state. Good hygiene and nutrition in a shelter with many rescue victims sharing such amenities such as food, water, and shelter need to be observed.
