The best group member who I have ever encountered was called John. He could make sure that whenever there is a discussion every member of the group understood what is being discussed. John did this by frequently asking questions with a lot of concern to anybody who might require some clarifications. He also insisted that everybody to note down some important information since we couldn’t master everything in the discussion. John keeps on reminding the group members of the time when we should be meeting for the discussion. And also he could often make follow-ups if we are putting the things that we have discussed into practice. Just like it in chapter ten, John practiced all the requirements of being a good team leader by evaluating the ideas from the member and confirming whether we were on the same page among other requirements (Beebe, Beebe and Ivy 3).

One of the brainstorming sessions, where I was the group leader, was when the group had a situation where a shop had been losing the customers in the past one month, and the group members were to brainstorming on how the shop could get more customers. The factors that led to the success of the problem at hand was the participation of the members in the identification of the source of the problem and clarifying how it could be solved through the analyses (Beebe, Beebe and Ivy 10). Each member had the opportunity to give an idea of how the customers could be got. The group members had the opportunity to do silent brainstorming before the group meets and then later appropriate solution was made by the members during the discussion.

The success of the session was achieved due to the prior silent brainstorm that was done by the group members before the group meeting time hence every member already had an idea on how to come up with the solution.

When a leader of a group is an authoritarian while the members of the groups want a democratic way of leadership, the members can join up together and work as a force to help them work at peace. It is more effective if the group members work together in peace than when there are internal differences among them (Beebe, Beebe and Ivy 15). As a single body, they can join up and dialog with the leader on the best way they can move the group forward. When the leader realizes that all the group members are not happy with his leadership, s/he can embrace the change that the members want.

The Acacia group will have a group meeting in the south coast hall. The agenda of the meeting will include the review of the previous discussion, brainstorming on the best way the group can meet its class target, and also any other burning issue among the members.
Five
Some of the patterns of difficult group behaviors that I have encountered in a group I was in were the time consciousness. Most of the group members could not come in time, and even other could even miss the discussion and later exclaim how they were committed. The other behavior from the group members was lack of participation of the members during the discussion. Some of how these behaviors can be dealt with are by reminding the members frequently about the group meeting and also giving the members the agenda of the discussion before the discussion time so that all members can participate during the discussion.
