Self Reflection Essay
My writing process has improved over time. Initially, I would not make use of all the steps of the writing process, and this used to make my work less attractive. However, I have now learned the importance of using the three steps of writing, which include prewriting, drafting, and revising (Riddle Par. 4). Initially, I would not take the time to revise my work, which made me present poor work.
I have learned that learning beyond the classroom is possible, and I now learn even from home using online tutoring. The center’s staff has offered me a lot of help because the people there do not give up on someone regardless of how many times one approaches them. My fellow students have also helped me to improve. Nevertheless, the online tutoring resource has been the most helpful for me. I find it hard to approach people on a face-to-face basis with some questions. With online tutoring, I do not experience any problems, and this makes me understand many things.
My writing style changes depending on the audience and how good I understand the topic. For example, when writing for my peers, I tend to use expository style. Here, I attempt to make them understand a topic as good as I do by using research. When writing for my instructor, I use descriptive and persuasive styles. I use the latter when trying to make the instructor understand my opinion on an issue, and the former when I am trying to tell my own story, which my instructor does not know about.

Connecting with the audience at a deeper level is one of the strategies I have learned, which I plan to use in writing assignments in future college courses. I have learned that every piece of writing makes more sense when the writer understands his or her target audience.
