Dear Parent/Guardian,

Receive greetings from me and the entire school fraternity. This letter has been sent to inform you of some important updates on our incorporation of learning centers for the better development of our children. A Learning Center is a place where students can work in small groups within the classroom. In these groups, they work together as a team on projects assigned with a goal to finish within a stipulated deadline.as each group completes their assignments they move to the next centers. It is a dedicated space in a classroom that has relevant items to teach the children on that particular subject example a music center, an art center, and an environmental center. Different subjects are integrated as they handle similar topics which teach children about various aspects of life. This learning in centers helps the teachers to know the children better, their interests and talents which is very vital in their development as well as shaping their attitudes and emotional behaviors. As they work as a team, it will be critical for them to be open to one another in the actions they take and engage their problem-solving skills to move to the next activity. As the children are working in the LCAs, my role as the teacher is to observe what they are doing, take notes on what behavior needs correction in different groups and individuals.
I plan to use procedures for developmentally appropriate practices DAP which include creating a kind community of students, training them to enhance growth and learning, designing a curriculum that will achieve desired goals, assessing their learning progress then conclusively create reciprocal relationships with their families.

Wait! what needs to be in the letter and how it needs to be done its in the instructions paper is just an example!

Individual child assessments along with their observations and family reports help center-based teachers to know their children. This helps to shape their educational and social skills through focused plans and direct interactions. They can be used to assess language and literacy develop problem-solving social, emotional behaviors fine and gross motor skills.
John Dewey introduced progressive education which emphasizes the need to learn by doing. He encourages student’s interaction with the environment in order to learn and adapt. This approach underlines on learning the needs and interests of the child. The teacher, in this case, is a facilitator rather than an instructor as he observes the directions and interests that they take. G Stanley Hall was engaged in the movement that intended to apply scientific conclusions on what children know and when they observe as a way of understanding the history of and the ways of progress in human life. He turned to the study of adolescence as the start of a new life and linked his visualization to a scientific claim that his latest life could contribute to the fruition of the race if properly conducted. Abraham Maslow proposed the theory of Maslow hierarchy of needs which shows how human beings behave emotionally. He uses the words physiological safety belonging esteem and self-actualization to describe the motivations in each level. Each level must be satisfied so that to move to the next level. At the bottom is physiological need the safety next is a love /belonging the fourth is esteem and at the top is self-actualization.
I will acknowledge what other children will say by giving positive attention, encourage persistence and effort, show them how to deal with any problem they encounter while creating or adding challenge so that it goes beyond their achievement give assistance and directions.
I encourage all parents to be partakers in this task of providing a positive environment in which our children will grow. I will set up a rotation list in the order in which we will have each parent help during the center time with the children. It is important that you come an hour earlier for you to learn and master all the responsibilities for that episode. We will need musical tools for an arts center and an environment related garden. The musical tools that will be needed include:
1) Piano
2) Guitar.
3) Bass Guitar.
4) Ukulele.
5) The Drums.
6) Recorder.7) Saxophone.
8) Cajon Drum.
The garden will need farming tools for the planting of trees and flowers and making schoolyards. Students participating in these activities will instill a sense of belonging and ownership in them. The garden tools required include the garden gloves, watering gears, garden forks, and trowels.
I request all the parents to send their children with the above-listed items a day before so that we can plan accordingly and prepare well for the day.
