Sports and Culture
Sports traverses many aspects of culture, and its effects make it crucial for the development and sustainability of a society. Most critically, sporting events bring cultures together and thus showcasing intercultural relationships that are mutually developed to create an inter-dependability chain. This essay will delve into the viewing of an event related to sports through a cultural lens.
The New York City Marathon is a series of events that occur annually, and it is a prestigious event that represents pride, unity, peace, and elite athleticism across the globe. It is a crucial event because it brings different cultures together and has evolved to act as a tool for economic, social, and cultural regeneration. Its positive dimensions on the plethora of cultures are boundless, and its amalgamation properties are anticipated.
Recently, however, in the U.S, there has been a concern about the rise of tensions and disparities between different races and cultures. This is especially after the new Trump administration executed their agendas that has since increased the rift between different cultures. In lieu of bringing each culture and race under one administration, different societies have been left in the open and targeted thus creating cultural and racial rigidities.
Due to the rise in racial tensions, some communities were unable to take part in athletic activities. This has hindered chances for intercultural development and bonding.

Wait! Sports and Culture paper is just an example!

For instance, a young Palestinian was unable to take place in a marathon even because his country had been banned from entry into the country (Alqadi n.p). This limits the scope of sports as it would have otherwise enabled bonding of different cultures and thus manifest its positive outcomes like reduction in crimes and antisocial behavior, bonding, education, and general cohesion and peace.
Conclusively, discriminations due to race or cultures should be discouraged to enable the positive effects of sports to manifest itself regarding cohesion, reduction in tension and bonding of different cultures.
