Capstone course was developed with an objective of increasing student exposure to real data and the problems of the real data analysis. It enables the students to gain a better insight of the modern statistical methods, advanced data analysis techniques and provides a platform to improve both written and oral communication abilities. The survey research is an integral part in the capstone course, and it involves the collection of information from a given number of people through response to questions. This study allows a variety of approaches to find participants, collect and analyze data. It can use both qualitative and quantitative research strategies to understand and come up with meaningful conclusions from the human behavior CITATION Ted01 l 1033 (Teddlie, 2001).
The available survey research has led to the extensive use and application of quantitative techniques across all study models. These models help to collect and examine data in order to come up with strategies and more appropriate business models in terms of customer satisfaction and the success rate CITATION Con10 l 1033 (Converse, 2010). When well-implemented survey research is very essential to the market researchers, and it is worth noting that cost-effectiveness of the survey research gives it a competitive advantage over other research techniques. For instance, the online surveys are economical, fast and reliable in terms responses are given.
The flexibility aspect of the survey research enhances it to be administered in various forms which include online, email, paper, and social media among others.

This makes the research more successful as various categories of individuals can be reached irrespective of their geographical location and conveniently. Additionally, research survey is extensive in that it can describe a wide range of characteristics of a given population while accommodating a wide range of questions. The large category of research questions helps the researchers to draw important conclusions that can provide a deeper insight of what is under study CITATION Pem10 l 1033 (Pembridge, 2010)Information gathered from survey research is highly dependable and the obscurity of the survey allows the respondents to give valid opinions hence higher reliability. The researchers create an avenue where the respondents are confident when answering even the ambiguous questions. In relation to the descriptive statistics, survey research is of great importance because it enhances the researchers to present the quantitative data aspect in a way that is easily manageable. The wide variety on answers and opinions from various respondents makes the descriptive statistics analyze a broad category of statistics and thus important conclusions CITATION Hau10 l 1033 (Hauhart, 2010).
From both the ex-post facto study and Quasi-experimental designs, survey research is highly achievable. Despite the researcher not having the total control of how the data is gathered, the information is readily available when needed, and in most circumstances, it is highly reliable. The bias level of respondents is highly minimized as the research exercise is optional and done out of willingness CITATION McK04 l 1033 (McKenzie, 2004). The distinct and clear purpose of the survey makes it more successful as a project. Furthermore, survey research allows the users to make the informed decision leading to a higher precision level.
Arguably, survey research is highly practical. Its foundations are usually well laid and planned before the research is conducted, and most respondents happily participate in the process leading to easier reporting. Survey research has already proved to be of great success especially when used by companies to determine various important aspects like the level of customer satisfaction or investigating possibilities when launching a new product.
