The success of the intelligent tourist destination model proposed by the Secretary of State for Tourism of Spain has aroused the interest of multiple destinations that have initiated its distinction process as a smart tourist destination by Segitur’s hand at different stages since 2013.

The interest in the DTI project transcends outside Spain, two international destinations are already within the distinction process and works on new proposals. A reinforcement to the leadership of Spanish tourist policies, also supported by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) that annually celebrates the Unwto World Conference on Smart Destination in collaboration with Segitur.
