The Benefits of Cloning
Introduction
Cloning entails the creation of an individual which is genetically identical to the existing one. This practice is beneficial since it makes it possible to modify the existing living organisms such as animals and plants and produce improved versions (George). Even though cloning has been associated with some drawbacks such as tampering with diversity, as well as effects to mankind, it has significantly helped in medicine where it has been used to develop medications, helped retain endangered species, helped manage infertility and during drug delivery.

First Argument
Cloning has been found to have the ability to create identical genes. During this genetic material replicating process, some living organisms are prevented from being produced. Scientists only aim at organisms which they feel are important. They assume others which also play profound roles in the ecosystem. This brings about an imbalance in the ecosystem.
Second Argument
The technique has initiated the execution of malpractice in the human setup. Despite the fact that problems have existed before, cloning has led to tampering of the human genes. “It has made a deliberate reproduction of undesirable traits” (George). In turn, this has brought about malpractices which have negatively affected the peaceful coexistence that was there before.

Moreover, cloning has led to the breaching of the ethical practices of the scientists.

The reason behind this is that the rights or rather the dignity of humans have been degraded since humans have found it easy to produce other ‘humans.’ Since man has been the “work of God ever since the beginning of time, the practice has made man into a “work of man. This aspect has greatly devalued mankind as far as ethical aspects and morals are concerned.

Cloning has been used to prevent living organisms from going extinct. This biotechnology technique has been used in both plants and animals to produce more copies of the organisms which are likely to go extinct. “Cloning of Dolly sheep has given hope that such endangered species of plants or animals can be saved with cloning” (George). Notably, scientists have analyzed Dolly’s case and have therefore indicated that improved organisms could be produced in a manner that they can resist adverse conditions.
Second Argument
Cloning is key to drug delivery. Here, the technique is used to prepare and transfer drugs from one living organism to another. For instance, there are some cloning techniques which works well when placed inside plants. As such, “when human consume such plants, they can take drugs along with the nutrients of the food” (George). Additionally, scientists have found that most vaccines stand a chance to be developed through cloning.
Third Argument
The biotechnology technique has been found to be helpful in the correction of infertility. The reason behind this is that “using the technique, the egg of the woman is taken out of the womb, it is fertilized by a foreign sperm and can be transferred to the original womb again” (George). This has made it possible for both fertile as well as infertile couples to have a chance of getting children. Also, the technique makes it possible for parents to decide on the sex of their unborn babies.

In conclusion, it is inarguable that the benefits of cloning have a weight which exceeds that of its limitations. For instance, cloning has helped in the delivering and administration of drugs. Also, the technique has been used to counter extinction of living organisms. It is used to prevent infertility among couples and also to help decide the sex of babies. Nevertheless, cloning has affected morals and ethical practices, it has contributed to wiping diversity, and it has made it possible for the creation of multiple genes which cause an imbalance in the society.
