List of Jefferson’s four assertions and explanation
Before Declaration of Independence, Jefferson came up with four significant assertions that the British government needed to grant the colonists. Every person is essential to the nation hence equality for all people irrespective of race and gender had to be considered. Also, a list of unleniable rights to protect all individuals was established among them right to Life, the right to liberty and pursuit of happiness. The constitution has to guard the rights, and all power has to be extracted from the approval of the citizens. Additionally, people should be granted the right to abolish any form of destructive government and institute a new government (US 1776).
List of three grievances and explanation.
Jefferson wrote a draft of 27 grievances that the British government had to grant the colonists. Main grievances include; British colonialists had to abolish taxes imposed on the colonies without a formal consent since taxing some commodities affects all people. Also, the colonists need to be granted voting rights which is essential when selecting leaders of their choice (US 1776). Third, parliament could not represent the colonialists.

Jefferson used the phrases to inform the readers of the importance of having their government and by showing the failure of Britain government.
Full analysis with textual evidence embedded
In the Declaration document, Jefferson has used appeals to Logic or logos on the readers in getting them to understand their rights. For example, he appealed to the readers using a list of violation of King and parliament of America colony people’s right, “To prove this, let Facts be submitted to a candid world” (US 1776). Also in the second paragraph, Jefferson uses logos to show the assertion, “unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.— That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed” (US 1776). The irrefutable facts presented leave the audience with a conclusion that separation from Great Britain is the only logical action to achieve liberty.
The purpose of writing The Declaration.
The Declaration of Independent document was written to provide a landmark in the history of American democracy and show the external influence of America. Also, the documents were written as the foundation of American government especially grievances and assertions that formed the Bill of Rights.
