The Impact of Social Policies
Social policies play important roles in societies. Notably, they help in addressing challenges facing the disadvantaged and vulnerable people. However, it is possible for social policy to have to have a negative impact on social workers, agencies, and clients (Miller et al., 2017). Therefore, to reduce the potential negative effect of social policies, I would research to identify the most viable options or alternatives that can help in addressing the same problem. The options can assist in minimizing the risks or undesirable effects on the organization, agency or targeted population.
“Working with Immigrants and Refugees: The Case of Luisa” is an example of how social policies can affect clients or people it should aim at benefiting. Luisa is facing a problem because of the limitation of the welfare’s policy. Although she is eligible for welfare benefits, Luisa cannot benefit from the social policy, as she has to prove that she can take care of herself and her son. As a result, Luisa is in a dilemma on whether to continue receiving welfare benefits or ascertains that she can take care of herself and the son. Therefore, social policy can negatively affect people like Luisa.
At the same time, the policy affects social agencies, especially about serving vulnerable clients like Luisa (Collins, 2007). Indeed, the Local welfare agency is determined to help Luisa solve her problems, but its options are limited by the policy.

Wait! The Impact of Social Policyer’s choice paper is just an example!

For instance, the agency is reluctant to advise Luisa to apply for benefits because of the fear of losing the opportunity of sponsoring her son. Moreover, the local welfare agency must advise Luisa about all the available options for her to make informed decisions. Arguably, Social policy should be flexible enough to accommodate vulnerable people like Luisa. References
