The plot of The Post (2017) focuses on two general and notorious aspects throughout the film: the problem of women in the business world and the ethics of journalism against politics. With this work set in the 1960s and 1970s, Steven Spielberg shows a criticism of uned -uned on the hypocrisy of the American political class. In this case, Spielberg treats the cover -ups of the US government about the Vietnam War and how the press, especially the Washington Post chose to risk to unmask all the secrets of the conflict.

Among all this entejo, is the fundamental role of women in a world led by men who, against any prognosis for the time, manages to carry out a bankrupt newspaper that his own father left in inheritance to his, already deceased, husband. Throughout the footage, the current machismo of the moment is reflected with clear examples such as the withdrawal of women from the table so that men talk about important issues or rejection and ridicule towards the protagonist itself, leaving it asideDespite being the owner of the newspaper. During the course of the narration, the difficulty of being a woman in a world ruled by men where, paradoxically, it is female breath that manages to unleash a song to freedom of the press that has marked the course of journalism and politics is manifested.

Regarding this final conclusion of the footage, I consider that it does not correspond to the reality of the press today, at least in our country, drowned economically and subject to political and financial interests.
