The traditional vision of sociology in the branch of education

"Since its inception, sociology has focused on the study of specific areas such as education, until it becomes a science that deepens the scientific and specialized study of the subject" (Rojas, 2014, p.33)

The sociology of education focuses from theoretical perception to understand and express education and educational institutions from a sociological area. Educational sociology studies the problem that arises in educational practice to find those variables that help better development and effective use of educational resources, allowing to contribute to the solution of the problems that manifest in the development of the EC Education process Formal (Fuentealba, 1986).

When considering the sociology of education as the study of education within a social context, the following should be taken into account:

1. Study their relationships with society together with the factors that act reciprocally.
2. Analyze the educational system, the subsystems and elements that organize it.

According to Rojas (2014) "Sociology can be occupied with both social factors that may have a consequence or relationship with education and vice versa" (P.51). For example, in educational institutions (in general and not only of schools) in ownership of the social institution and social context where the social relationship of some subjects occurs (teachers, students, student representatives, etc.

).

There are many contributions that sociology has provided about education. These contributions that could be established by schools, traditions or currents for a better understanding of the subject and the different visions within the same science.

To exemplify the aforementioned, it can be addressed from different theories:

• Durkheim theory.-Education is representative as reserved at the same time, because it is directed both in the contents and in moral values.
• Weber theory.- Education participates in society through classes. On the other hand, Weber is also directed in the theme of power behind the designation of university professors and ensures that political influences inevitably determine the progress or delay of some.
• Marx theory.- It motivates to emphasize the philosophical factor of education behind the domain and the dissemination of the terms of production and the marginality that supports the proletarian class due to the conditions in which its education is carried out.
• Simmel theory.- Centers your interest in the teaching and learning process, the teacher’s work, the methods on the lessons, etc., and in the process of lesson and education.

The traditional vision of the Sociology of Education:

• Educational Sociology: The educational study is related to the classification and organization of the contents, composures, behaviors yearned in students, values, attitudes, etc., which are socially established, legalized and involved by the Government in their educational programs and policies.
• Sociology of the Educational System: Not only is it focused on studying the intellectual level of students to present a university admission exam, but also the factors that may incur the career choice, and even address the final results of the process, based According to the number of graduates, examine their chances of incorporation into the work area with the learning obtained. On the other hand, from the sociology of the education system, the system is conceived as a social context, where social interactions are created with the community environment and among students, teachers, administrative, etc.
• Educational sociology: "It is interested in the development of knowledge of a sociological and psychosociological nature that have a direct relationship or logical connections with the problems of educational practice" (Rojas, 2014, p.52).It is oriented to the interaction and problem that occurs in educational practice, this being a social fact.
