Trump’s urge to end Chain Migration
What issue will you write about, and how does it affect you personally?
In his quest to toughen the immigration law, President Trump has instructed the implementation of policies that end chain migration. He defends his decision claiming the move will stop any future attacks in the country such as the one that took place on 11th December 2017 in New York (Lind 1). Ball (1) states that ending chain migration will surely be an end to family unity. It will be impossible for my relatives from Mexico to move to America to join the rest of the family and me. According to Lind’s (1) description of the contents of the proposal, the law will restrict my parents from sponsoring our relatives to migrate to the country.
Whose position, specifically, will you refute (which person or organization)?
I refute John Tanton’s decision to side with the President on ending chain migration.
What is this person’s position on your topic? List five main arguments that the person or organization (your audience/opposition) has on this topic that you will argue against.
Mogul John Tanton in O’Connor’s (1) article supports Trump’s proposal stating that it will bring order and prosperity of the country’s economy. He says that;
Mass migration and weak immigration laws of the country put the nation at the risk of more attacks and increase in violence.
Chain migration creates a pool of cheap labor leading to an increase in competition for jobs in the country.

Wait! Trump’s urge to end Chain Migration) paper is just an example!

Immigrants hardly contribute any significant revenue to the American economy once they move back to their home countries.
Immigration causes an increase in illegal immigrants and illicitы activities in the country
Migrants increase the country’s population leading to strain on the limited public resources (O’Connor 1).
What is your position on the topic?
Indeed, illegal migration causes tremendous economic and social problems as stated by Tanton. However, I refute the idea of adopting a policy that will put an end to chain migration. The country can take effective measures such as implementing strict rules and deploying more security guards at the country boards to reduce such cases. Limiting chain migration is not an appropriate solution since the labor from migrants drives the country’s industrial success. Most of the workers from Mexico have consistently proven to be very industrious, and there are very few cases reported of them being part of the criminal and terrorist activities. Chain migration brings about prosperity and stabilization of the current and future American families. Family unity brings a new form of energy and increase in population results in more innovative and skilled personnel in the country. Furthermore, it enriches the country with diversity and sustains the country’s economic growth.
