Scenario 1
As much as the US is a democratic country and seeks that democracy should be the policy that guides every nation in the world, there might be a circumstance that might require a rethink of the approach. In some situations, it might be essential to allow the country’s sovereignity to take precedence to what the US might need. While the nation has its leader, their local politics should not be much of a concern to the US. In the past, the country tried to remove a leader that seemed to be authoritarian with the aim of replacing the nation with a democratic system, but the result is a nation that is even more unstable. Therefore, in this case, it would be essential to allow the country to deal with its internal issue. The US should not interfere with the course that the citizens have taken. The state should deal with the government and not individuals.
Scenario 2
The world is changing quite fast, and alliances between nations also seem to be improving. With these changes, countries are supposed to allow developing countries to realign their partnership with the best interest of the country. One thing that is clear is that we support liberalism and imperialism. In this case, the best way to handle this issue is to allow this nation to make decisions that might be best for its interest. It would not be in the spirit of liberalism if the US forces this small nation to take its loan yet it does not benefit the country.

There is need to allow a nation to make decisions that would work for it citizens. The best way to handle this situation is to have talks on how these countries can pay the debt or change the deficit to a grant (Lewis).
In making these decisions, one thing that seems to stand out is the need for democracy and imperialism. There is the need for the developed nations to allow developing nations to focus on their foreign affairs and also focus on their interest. It would be wrong for developed countries to force these nations to ally with them or follow their policies.
