The media plays a vital duty in the society especially when dealing with news delivery and also giving of an opinion. The media is the major source of information for the people. It explains what is happening in different places in the world. In healthcare, however, the healthcare professionals are using the social media and the media, in general, to act as a communication link between the researchers, policymakers and the general public (Ventola, 2014). For instance, the CDC and prevention, use Twitter to pass information to its hundreds of thousand followers. And also the other social media technologies such as Facebook and websites are the examples of new technologies that are used by the nurses to deliver new information to the public (“How Nurses Should Be Using Social Media,” 2018).
The fact that social media such as Twitter has been used in different aspects such as presidential elections in the communication sounding board, the same can be applied in the healthcare sectors. It can be used to conduct interviews with different people in the health care such as the nurses and the patients. For example, Facebook has been used by patients who request organ donation and also donors who post their status. The Facebook and other websites can be used to advertise some products such as drugs (Ventola, 2014). Blogs have also been used to promote some products that are used in the healthcare sectors such as the quality of services offered by the nurses and even the medical products that are produced by the manufactures.

Similarly, nurses can use the blog to conduct internet marketing concerning the services that they offer in the hospitals. The social media can also be used to educate the public on the outbreak of dangerous diseases that are in the society (“How Nurses Should Be Using Social Media,” 2018). The education of the public can be the responsibility of the nurses.
