Variable Assignment
The experiment will demonstrate the effect of ‘SuperGrow’ fertilizer on basil plants. Therefore, it will attempt to prove that the fertilizer has a significant impact on plants as compared to normal fertilizers. Both ‘SuperGrow,’ and ordinary fertilizers would be used for growing basil plants. Moreover, the type and species of the basil plants would be similar. As a result, therefore, the plants would be planted on the same day and exposed to the same growth requirements such as water, air, and sunlight. These are essential elements for the growth of all the plants. For the experiment, six plants would provide adequate source dependent variables. The observation of the plants exposed to normal fertilizer will be compared to the other three exposed to ‘Supergrow’ fertilizer.
From the experiments, the variables existing include the rate of growth and the effect of fertilizers on plants. The controlled variables include the amount of water and fertilizers supplied to the plants which would be supplied at equal amounts to achieve the required effects of the core impact of the compost. On the other hand, the dependent variable includes the level and extent of growth observed during growth. Independent variables would include the fixed components used in the experiment (Çaparlar, 212). An example is the amount of fertilizer applied to the plants. The more the fertilizers applied to the plant the more the growth. Furthermore, the effectiveness of the fertilizer can be observed from the differences that exist between that plants that used standard fertilizer and those that used ‘SuperGrow’ fertilizers.

The results would, therefore, determine the growth rate of basil plants when exposed to independent, dependent and controlled variables.
