VENOM MOVIE REVIEW
Name:
Institutional Affiliation:

Venom is a 2018 Sci-fi movie casted by Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Reid Scott and Michelle Lee. It was directed by Ruben Fleischer. In the movie, a spaceship that has alien specimens gets mechanical complications and, as a result, crash on Earth. In the process, as some of the specimens are captured and are tested in San Francisco, one symbiote gets away. Tom Hardy (Eddie Brock), comes across incriminating information against Riz Ahmed (Carlton Drake) the CEO of Life Foundation the company that was testing the specimen. Thus, Tom tries to use the information against Drake but ends up losing his job. However, things take a dramatic turn when Drake’s assistant sneaks Tom into the premise. Tom becomes a host to a symbiote and then turns into a very powerful venom (Bishop, 2018). On the other hand, Drake wants to have the creature back into the foundation, and he will do anything to bring it in. Although the movie has a quick tempo and moderately good-natured, it is poorly written and uninspired movie. It feels like the director was after an easy paycheck rather than providing any artistic inspiration.
This movie lacks a strong footing and tends to mix the plot all through. Although in a way, this gives it efficiency, it has a flat action. In addition to this, it has a few moments of fun but the comedy in it is mishandled altogether. Tom Hardy has been one of the most exciting artists this year and it was a shame that the movie did not bring out his potential.

Wait! Venom movie paper is just an example!

The first scene of the movie is generally dull, charmless and ham-fisted. Nevertheless, there is a protracted act when Tom Hardy lost his job and his girlfriend, Michelle Williams. However, the storyline is blunt, and there is no connection or chemistry between Tom and Michelle. This is surprising because these two casts are at the moment the most captivating actors in the movie industry. Tom Hardy’s performance is muted, fidgety and also unengaging. On the other hand, Michelle also does not live up to expectation. She doesn’t bring anything extra to her role as a fiancé she moves on with the role.
For a costly movie to succeed, it must work for everyone. This is where Venom encounters problems. It has mixed and matched dissonant tones, its plot is full of contrivances which makes it a movie not worth watching. Furthermore, it is full of odd moments and old effects which makes it hard to believe that the movie is a 2018 one. However, the most important part of the movie is that, regardless of the situation, Tom Hardy does an incredible job given the circumstances. Nevertheless, his character doesn’t make sense or work within the context of the movie. Yet, he does a decent job.
In conclusion, the movie did not triumph, it is a train wreck mainly because of its mediocre storyline. The main cast and the superhero did not in any way bond with his parasite. Which was a shame because there was enough to suggest that the movie could have been a blast. On paper, the director, Mr. Fleischer was the best for the script. I think his best work was evident in Zombieland, which had energy, humor, found impressive reception among the viewers. But he fails to find to find the timbre in Venom. Therefore, the movie did not live up to expectations, and it is difficult to find anybody clamoring to it. The film is generally sloppy and full of inconsistency.
