Hospital administrators encounter various challenges in comprehending statistical approaches applied in healthcare research. It is important to understand that the administrators are not often involved in data collection and analysis. However, it is crucial for the administrators to identify the most significant tests for application in the healthcare setting. Those who deal with data collection and analysis reason in very structured ways whereas understanding the data is complex and difficult (O’Sullivan & Berner et al. 2016). For health administrators to understand the statistical methods used, therefore, they have to overcome the complexity of the processes and their applications.
Statistical methods are very diverse and differ according to the information collected. Data itself is usually from multiple locations such as the Human Resource software, patient records, and various departments. Integrating all this information into a central system makes it more accessible. However, storage of healthcare data is in different formats such as images, lists, videos, and multimedia (O’Sullivan & Berner et al. 2016). Still, the same data can be in different locations or systems in various formats which makes it challenging for healthcare administrators to understand the approaches used in medical research.
Furthermore, increased evidence-based practices, as well as continuous research, causes inconsistent definitions. For instance, one can get varying answers on how to classify a patient as diabetic from different clinicians.

With or without consensus, health experts are always discovering new knowledge. The more we learn about body functioning even statistical approaches change and this makes it hard for facility overseers to apprehend (O’Sullivan & Berner et al. 2016). Statistical Methods used to inform service delivery depend on as many factors as the preferences of individuals. In other words, the complexity of humans is somewhat transferred to data warehouses since they are the key participants in healthcare research and their opinions vary a great deal.
