Following the various cases of insecurities witnessed in America, president Gorge Bush saw the importance of forming a department whose work is to oversee security matters in the United States of America. Specifically, the terror attack of the year 2011 that was conducted by the Al-Qaida group, the leader of the US saw the relevance of forming the department. It effectively responded to any kind of terrorism witnessed within the borders of the state.
Apart from attending for America’s people, the department was created to conduct other activities such as curbing insecurity cases witnessed in different instances such as cyber crimes that are experienced in most parts of US. However, it is good to note that the reporting of such cases have significantly reduced since the introduction of the department. It is therefore evidenced that the unit is working as expected. Also, the body is responsible for attending other emergencies such as natural calamities as well as disagreements witnessed in border during immigration (Wise, 305).
However, there are numerous advantages of integrating FEMA into DHS. Firstly, it was noted that Americans were susceptible to terrorism acts (Wise, 311). Therefore, it was good for the government to put the two bodies together as one was responsible for counterterrorism respond while the other body was good at managing disasters. Therefore, the two branches working together meant a better position for the US government to get prepared.

Wait! Why was the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) established? Why was FEMA integrated into DHS? paper is just an example!

Lastly, FEMA is always ready and has enough resources at hand as compared DHS that was not prepared before. Therefore, it was important for the two groups to be joined together. It made response to be more effective that when they are operating independently (Wise, 307).
