Seligson’s “why are more women than men on Instagram” relates to Hodge’s “how to do feminist TV analysis” in a couple of ways. Women are always in competition with each other in factors ranging from material possessions to the looks. In the context of the articles mentioned above, women will try to outdo one another by the general appearance and attractiveness (Seligson, 2016). All of that encourages and demonstrates feminism which makes the two articles relate. Instagram as a platform gives women a chance showcasing what they have and their beauty. However, the drive to do so is encouraged by men who will motivate women by posting pleasing comments against the pictures that they have already uploaded. Every woman ought to discourage sexism which the platform has efficiently encouraged.
Women love keeping a record of places and situations they have gone through in photos which in the long run encourages feminism. Hodge argues that watching a feminist TV program tends to be fun; a situation that is created by the movements and the gestures featured. All that is directed to enhancing how the cast of the program look like as they are all women. A similar scenario is created on Instagram and other social media sites where women will be discussing matters about fashion and beauty all directed towards enhancing their appearance (Seligson, 2016). On the contrary, Men will feature in programs addressing serious life issues which are not as attractive as feminist programs.

The enhancement of the looks and activeness on the social media platforms encourages feminism by conveying a message that women can look good and be independent.
Television programs and social media platforms were all formed to illustrate the logic of how people associate. That can be achieved through connecting people in various ways where a person showcases what he or she has, and others can commend them based on merit. In Butler’s work, philosophers hardly recognize the acting done in the theater as associative. However, they have a written set of acts that maintain the semantics of association between humans. According to Butler, when a person plans to do something, he or she has to do something else to affirm that he will do what he or she ought to do (Hodge, 2013). That can be related to Seligson’s work where women prefer to showcase their material possession by being active on the social media sites. Also, in the social media platforms, women start competing by first getting active on the social media.
Hodge’s “how to do a feminist TV analysis” relates to Butler’s work in diverse ways. The discourse of acts created as the program gets developed is all meant to convey specific information. That, in turn, brings out the logic through the lessons that the program teaches. On social media, Instagram included, photos posted give out expressions through the gestures contained in the moves and how people look (Hodge, 2013). According to Butler, feminism is instituted through how the body is stylized. That develops a meaning that no one dictates their gender, hence sex should be understood as the way the body operates. The body operation features the movements, and the gestures made. Social media together with the TV programs give a clearer understanding of the gender issue thus binds the three articles together through a standard course.
The digital platform can be used in various ways ranging from discouraging odd behaviors to encouraging the good ones through sensitizing people. A few years ago, sexism had been a big problem where women were not recognized fully as a part of the community (Butler, 1988). However, that unusual behavior in the society has been overturned, and they are now accepted, and the world has seen significant developments resulting from efforts put in by women. Sexual and gender activists have risen to try and curb sexism. In 1969, the sexual and gender outsiders took to the street a rebellion to rebel against police and authority defiance over sexism. That was the only way that women and those stigmatized due to their sexual orientation could easily get their rights. In the modern world, the digital platform has made it much easier for today’s outsiders to rebel and resist defiance. That can be achieved by alerting people all over the world via the social media sites.
Instagram and other social media platforms have necessitated women to fight for their rights more efficiently. All the four articles relate to each other in various ways. Bassichis, Lee & Spade (2011) work can be marked as the beginning of the other three works. This is evident from the fact that the social media, the TV programs, and the feminist theory are all directed to talking about gender and mostly the female sexuality (Butler, 1988). They deeply expound on the subject matter to make people understand that sex is introduced through body stylization and instead it’s not an individual choice to dictate their gender. The rebellion has been going on even in the modern world though indirectly. That has solely been brought about by advancements in technology where people no longer do demonstrations on the street, but through association, they communicate whatever information they wish to deliver.
