Healthcare organizations around the world face many issues that affect their normal operation and hinders the quality of how services are delivered to the patients. Some of the problems experienced include the following. Firstly, there is increased number of both underinsured and uninsured individuals nationally, which has caused high bad debts in most hospitals. It hinders the delivery of quality service. The Academic Medical Centers (AMCs) has experienced a shortage regarding the capacity to admit patients because there is a high number of people moving from community hospitals to AMCs. Again, many hospitals are struggling to recruit many nurses and doctors, with most AMCs organizations poaching from one another (Dixon-Woods et al., 2012).
To curb the challenges, managers should develop strategic planning that handles specific problems. The managers should ensure that some capital is set aside to finance the training of more doctors and nurses. It will reduce the poaching among various AMCs, and the quality of services offered in the healthcare would be improved. Managers should also make sure that they mobilize many people to take insurance cover to reduce the hospital debts by those who are uncovered and wish to seek medical assistance. Finally, supervisors should encourage setting up more healthcare facilities within the organizations to avoid congestions. For instance, the purchase of many beds in Massachusetts and increasing the number of acute beds (Epping-Jordan et al.

, 2004).
For the stakeholders to drive the strategic planning, the healthcare should create a system that solicits their feedback by creating various levels of communication from the staff members. Also, the manager should consider selecting the stakeholder representative who will be the persons the managers will address on behalf of the other participants to simplify the communication within the healthcare. For instance, selecting leaders who will regularly provide feedback to the managers (Little, 2004).
Since the aim of most healthcare facilities is to provide goods services, the organization can better align its strategic planning by encouraging and reminding their workers on the visions and missions of the facility. For instance, printing the visions and missions and pinning them on their offices (Scott, 2009).
