Morality helps to assume levels of decisions, moral actions in greater demand for coherence and justification;As for ethics, a rationality has been found, which is being developed in different stages proposed by several theories, which should not be considered as norms or laws to have a harmonious orientation in the daily life.

In an ethical relationship, the values of both the nurse and the patient should be recognized and considered with great importance. If we talk about moral principles we refer to pillars that support behaviors in different lifestyles of human beings, in the field of health all this implies an ethical commitment, which allows us to assess the person since it is a reflection ofThe values that guide personal behavior, in today’s society are the result of economic and social changes producing a transformation.

Nursing care must be humanized care of excellence that allows us to help maintain physiological, psychological, social functions as they facilitate the patient’s health well -being, following the right to qualified care based on personal dignity.

The nursing has as a mission an activity that implies the management and execution of patient care, which requires ethics linked to what is done, it should be taken into account that the work with the course of time has been varying, conceiving the importance of each moment forthe cares;Due to the aforementioned, the reasons for the behaviors of each professional in practice have begun to study.

According to Jean Watson’s model, he describes nurse care as a procedure or action based on the moral reason that offers a guarantee, with the main objective of improving the quality of life of the sick person helping to recover their well -being.

General objective

Prepare a report on the moral development of nurses as professionals of care and professional commitment from the ethics of care, September 2019 – January 2020.

Specific objectives

Describe the principles of ethics.

Analyze and know what is the relationship between bioethical principles and nursing ethics.

Describe the principles of care and relationship with palliative care in the nursing area.

Ethics Principles

The way of preserving humanization in relation to health corresponds to the staff to provide care for patients in the different fields;That is, nursing is responsible for offering humanized care that determines the excellence of helping people maintain their physiological, psychological, and social functions that provide their well -being.

Nursing professionals can perceive ethical conflicts due to the responsibilities associated with the care of people, attributed to professional ethics and the workplace. When carrying out the professional practice, two aspects are put before: the integral and the biomechanics which affects compression of knowledge, the perception of the way of acting of professional personnel. Professional ethics judges the attitudes of doctors, professionals and including the nurses themselves, who perform care for the improvement and recovery of the patient based on the fundamental principles of bioethics that are autonomy, beneficence, no maleficiency and justice (1).

Autonomy Principle: It is the person’s ability to make decisions regarding their illness.

Benefit principle: It consists of not causing damage, of carrying out their activities correctly, nurses are able to understand the patient in charge, and see the patient as oneself.

Principle of non -maleficence: It is aiming to avoid damage, recklessness and negligence that can cause damage in which they can cause physical, mental, social, psychological injuries.

Principle of Justice: It involves the meaning of equality, equity and planning that is based precisely on attending to the one who needs it most, treating everyone equally without discrimination .

The new era has determined that the nurse requires preparation in knowledge based on scientific and technological advances in which sensitivity must be included in the problems of the human being. The needs of care are universal, in which the necessary conditions that are: respect for life, dignity and human rights without distinction of nationality, race, religion, sex, politics or social position are involved;Thus had the main responsibility the consideration of the person who needs professional attention, respecting their rights, values, customs and beliefs.

Bioethical principles and its relationship with nursing ethics

Nurse ethics studies the necessary reasons for behaviors in the practice of profession, principles of behaviors, motivations and professional values;Within its duties that this moral commitment must fulfill which is based on four principles:

The principle of justice provides mutus to all patience since it talks about equal treatment regardless of the situation or the case in which the person is, on the other hand, confidentiality must also be taken regarding the information of eachpatient since it influences the relationship you have with it;Therefore, health personnel are obliged to tell the truth by providing all the information regarding the procedures that will carry out.

Ethical principles of care

It is essential that the nursing area have a vision of its profession as a scientific discipline, having as a principle the concern of humanity with beliefs that demonstrates its responsibility and ethical firmness;Health professionals have the obligation to be prudent and careful when informing, an action that must be understood as a gradual and verbal process in which the nurse and the patient intervene.

Deprivation is the right to privacy of information obtained from a person who should not be revealed to another as long as it is for the benefit of it or is used for social benefit;so that the nurse must comply with the obligation always tell the truth, not lie or deceive in the transmission of information that is related to nursing procedures and diagnoses.

In the palliative care area, the essence of the nurse’s profession is demonstrated since values such as respect for life and dignity, making this a humanized context from the fragility or suffering of the nurse or the family;According to Jean Watson, care involves a humanistic and ethical vision being a theoretical proposal that is considered in the field of palliatives since care is considered to be a moral reason, rather than a procedure or action;To guarantee the quality of care it is necessary to have multiple indicators such as: accessibility, opportunity, scientific and technological relevance, effectiveness and efficiency .
