Most of the iPhone users have realized a slowdown in their old phones thereby making it difficult to carry out their operation. The slowdown of the Apple phones has been accompanied by low battery lifespan of the phone (Sulleyman, 2017). Similarly, the increased drainage rate of these batteries lowers the time taken by the iPhone users hence interfering with their socialization time with the friends and families.
The main aim of the deliberate slowdown of the old phones by the company is to make the iPhone users buy the new models that are released in the market. And also the company was targeting to make higher sales for their products. For instance, the reduced battery lifespan would force the old modelled iPhone users to purchase new batteries for their phones so that they can improve the processor speed of the phones. The apple firm was also targeting to register higher sales for their new models to outcompete the sales for the other companies such as the Android and the windows. The slowdown was also done on the old phones to do away with the occurrences of unexpected shutdown of the old phones when their batteries were low (“iPhone Battery and Performance”, 2018).
The challenges that are faced by the iPhone users are the expenses that are used to buy a new battery to improve the processor speed of the old iPhones (Ryans, 2018). Some other users are forced to buy phones from the different companies such as android since they can’t afford the high expenses of buying the new iPhone models.

Wait! Apple Intentionally Slows Down older model iPhones Without Telling Customers paper is just an example!

The long-term solutions to these problems would be to come up with batteries that have a long lifespan that can be replaced to the old models and also to develop new models with long-lasting batteries. The company should also indicate the lifespan of the batteries used in the iPhones so that customers become aware of the duration that the phone battery shall take. The company should also make phones with better processing speeds and those that cannot become slow when the batteries are low. And the company should indicate the factors that can make the phone to slow down after a given period of use.
