I have always been fascinated by the world around me, especially how human activity has shaped the world to be what it is today. In this case, I would watch media reports on how the world has changed, for instance, the national geographic channel. For that matter, these reports reinforced my fascination with the subject. While these reports increased my understanding of human effects as a complex subject, they made me understand that any knowledge was useless without proper leadership and management. It was this understanding that made me explore the possibility of joining a college program. Though understanding human effects on the world is my goal, ensuring that future generations can survive on earth would be the real triumph.
My choice of the University of Colorado as the institution in which to pursue my college education was based on its Boulder’s Flagship 2030 strategic plan for promoting exceptional teaching, research, scholarship, creative works, and service. In this case, I believe that the institution is a premier learning center that will allow me to have a better understanding of human activities by offering me the opportunity to interact with diverse groups of people in a competitive academic environment. For that matter, I will be better positioned to develop my leadership skills, as well as an awareness of my environment. In addition, my admission into the college will allow me to add my knowledge to the productive discussion that goes on in the institution, on the understanding that the knowledge gained will be put to use in real-world applications.

As such, the University of Colorado would help me achieve my goal of making a difference in the world through Boulder’s Flagship 2030 strategic plan. In this case, attending the institution would enable me to critically evaluate, advance and apply operational knowledge in public resources administration. For that matter, the school would allow me to gain an appreciation of people management that would enable me to use the expertise – that I would have gained – in the natural resources management. Though I do not have a specialized background, the institution would enable me to apply specific competencies and skills – that I would have acquired in its college programs – to manage people in real-world settings.
