A true argumentation is one of the most crucial parts of the professional and academic world. When used appropriately, it is how thoughts are deliberated and shared in discussion communities. An argument can, therefore, be defined as a socio-cultural practice of creating, presenting, criticizing and amending disputes (Freeley 5). An argument involves two or more participants and the participants have a different perspective on an issue. One of the contributors is usually trying to persuade the other one on the truth about the issue at hand. On the other hand, rhetoric is a form of communication which discovers what is persuasive, why it is persuasive and who or what is persuading. Rhetoric usually deals with probabilities and demonstrations, especially when swaying others to act.
An argument is usually presented through a number of steps where each step contains one proposition. It is, therefore, useful to take an argument and break it down laying the premises and conclusions. Firstly, one has to set the propositions and identify the conclusion. Some of these arguments will have conclusion markers like thus, therefore, so and hence. If you do not find the indicator, you should try and ask what the proposition is trying to convince. Secondly, when the conclusion has been identified, a double line should be drawn to help break down the conclusion. Thirdly, one should identify the premises that support the conclusion and draw one line on each idea.

The first step to an argument is identifying what it is one will be arguing about; which is the conclusion or idea one will be defending. The second step is to provide evidence that supports one’s point of view. Most of the tie, it gets challenging to find the correct evidence. The third step is organizing the evidence with the type of argument an individual wants to choose. The last step is tackling the counterargument as an argument is usually one-sided and no persuasion is involved. So as to prove that an argument is true a person has to be ready for any objections that may arise.
An inductive argument is one that the arguer ensures that it is strong enough that when the premise is true, the conclusion is unlikely to be false. An inductive argument works to achieve what is known about things or concepts that are unknown. The argument main aim is supporting its arguments through probability.
Generalization has been categorized as one of the universal ways of thinking. Generalization in critical thinking includes an attempt of identifying the common patterns, gauging the average and typical then formulating general rules. Generalization is a necessity in an argument since it is informal and thus presumes that a number of examples can be applied more commonly. Consequently, generalization is said to be part of the inductive argument and on certain occasions are interpreted into more general ideologies. Notably, public opinions and surveys can be categorized as a generalization as they judge what a group of individuals think on the basis of small representatives who take part in the interviews.
Casual arguments are part of inductive arguments but they focus on a conclusion based on a regularity called “the regularity of a cause-and-effect relationship. A casual claim will claim that one issue caused the other one. Additionally, a casual claim is established by an amalgamation of a set of casual postulations. An example of a causal argument is an individual can argue that driving of vehicles, will cause the emission of carbon which then leads to global warming.
