The airport also has shopping service options and over 150 dining facilities across all of its airport terminals. The same terminals are commonly connected by walkways and the buses. A few of the terminals at the LaGuardia airport are usually maintained and managed by airlines themselves. For instance, Terminal D and A and nearly entire section of terminal C are being maintained by Delta airlines, whereas terminal B is being managed by the port authority.
Terminal A was initially referred to as the marine air terminal. It was the initial airport terminal for all the international flight. The need to help the boats which are flying was the main aim of constructing waterside terminal .the terminals is the main stations for the American airlines such as pan American airways
Terminal B which is the Central Terminal building, serves majority of the LaGuardia’s airlines. It is made up of six blocks long, with about four-storey central section, four concourses which include ;A, B, C ,and three-storey wings .Terminal C is three hundred thousand square-foot. It is a structure constructed to handle traveller’s traffic at the airport, (Feron et al 1997).
Terminal D was actually an extension of the Terminal C and was aimed at handling more traffic mainly from Delta Airline and also the low cost Canadian flights. It was linked to Terminal C by a six hundred pedestrian walkway. Early 2013 marked the opening of the Terminal D .The terminal facilitated the construction of hub which is located at LaGuardia
The LaGuardia airport proved to be the largest port when the construction began. However, it becomes tentatively small as compared with other airports. Following the same, the management of airport has commenced charging other airlines that are operating right from LaGuardia airport. They are charged heavy fees during peak hours; this is aimed at arresting the situation, since the same drives away several ground operators to neighboring airports. The closure of nearby Flushing Airport follows the rise in traffic at LaGuardia and also the safety concerns. The closure was also aimed at combating overcrowding and congestion at LaGuardia airport, (Ashford et al 2013).
