CAREER PLANNING FOR A RAP ARTIST AND LAWYER
Student Name
Institutional affiliation

Introduction
While a rap artist is a musician who combines very distinct beats and rhythms to create fun songs, a lawyer is a professional engagement that requires one to acquire a license to the practice of law (Coyle, VanLeer, Schroeder, and Fulcher, 2015). A lawyer’s primary role is to advocate for his or her clients on a public or private sector depending on the orientation of their career. While both career choices may arise from interest, good rappers are people who mainly derive their skills from innate skills and enthusiasm, and that is why I want to be both.
Becoming a Lawyer
For a successful lawyer, there is a set of emphasis that an individual must adhere to in line with his or her career as discussed below.
In the first stage, one must be able to complete his or her bachelor’s degree in related disciplines. It is this certification that acts as the minimum entry into law school.
To get admitted to a law school, one must be able to pass the law school admission test which is a core component of the process of admission.
With success in the test, is given an opportunity to choose among the preferable law schools he would wish to join after which he or she makes an application
To start practicing law, one must be able to earn a Juris Doctor degree in either real estate, property, criminal or family law among others
A successful lawyer an ABA approved school must be able to pass the bar examination to be ready to dive fully into the practice (Irvine, 2015).

Becoming a Rapper
Due to the high competition and constant dynamics in the music industry, a rap artist must be very versatile and prompted in adopting changes. Some of the guidelines towards being a rap artist are:
One must get to practice individual sound creation that displays a distinct style from the rest.
With style already in play, an artist should be able to market his music through campaigns and shows.
An artist also needs to have a support staff such as manager, producers, and an agent to help in the sales focus ahead in the business.
Make a recording or album through a consolidated work of a studio, producer and a record label (Watson, 2016).
The effectiveness of my plan
Becoming a lawyer requires academic achievements, a rap artist, on the other hand, is more of a talent. I feel I can do both since I am getting my BA in business and marketing, started a program in criminal justice, and marketing which can help in selling my albums, and therefore I can pursue both of the careers.
