Question 1# What do you see as the main difference between a successful and an unsuccessful decision? How much does luck versus skill have to do with it? How much time needs to pass to know if a decision is successful or not?
Decision making is an essential factor in any organization as it affects the employees and the organization as a whole. The main difference between unsuccessful and successful decision is that, a successful decision follows the steps which are trailed by decision makers who want quality results. These steps include; detect the issue, create a decision plan, balance the choices, create options, evaluate the options, pick the best alternative, implement the choice and finally evaluate the decision (Organizational Behaviour 8). Some people depend on luck while others rely entirely on their skills, but any successful decision depends on both skills and success. An organization does not need so much time to know whether the decision made was successful or not. For a company which sales products, they can evaluate their daily and weekly sales while comparing with the expected sales volume during that period.
Question 2# Research has shown that over half of the decisions made within organizations fail. Does this surprise you? Why or why not?
No, because many decisions are made under pressure causing the parties involved in the decision-making process to use shortcuts.

Question 1# Identify the leadership traits and behaviors that are desirable for this position.

A good leader should have the following leadership traits which include; honesty, integrity, extraversion, have self –esteem, should be open to experience, should be conscientious. Also, in addition to the following traits, the restaurant manager should be patient and friendly because he will be dealing with less experienced staff (Organizational Behaviour 46).
Question 2# Design an approach to selecting this person. Which methods of employee selection would you use? Why? The job posting is one of the ways to use which will enable the employees to know about the position at hand. This makes the promotion process to be seen as fair. I will use the top performers’ approach because it will give me the best candidate for the position.
Question 3# Develop interview questions to be used in hiring this manager. Your questions should be aimed at predicting the leadership capabilities of the person in question.
