List 3 things that you got to do or see on the college visit.
I surveyed the classrooms and lecture halls. I was able to see the type of furniture available in classes. I also observed the sizes of the rooms.
I went for lunch in the cafeteria. I was keen on the type of food available and the prices. I observed the level of hygiene in the cafeteria.
I went to the University library. I wanted to observe if the library strained by the large population of students. I also found out about the types of books available in the library.
Was there an academic major focus (engineering, medicine, etc.) for this campus? Explain. If not, what are some of the college degrees you heard about?
Sam Houston state university offers a wide diversity of courses from all the scholarly disciplines. There is no specific academic focus. Some of the courses I heard are Accounting, computer science, economics, digital forensics, nursing, statistics, and criminal justice.

What is one thing you learned about this particular college that you didn’t know before?
I did not know that Sam Houston State University is the home of Texas Invasive species Institute.

I know some few things about this institute, but I was shocked to find it inside the university. Knowing this made me attracted more to this university.

What did you like about this college? Explain. (Student life, cafeteria, organizations, dorms, setting, class size, etc.)
I loved the dorms because they aren’t that big or small. They are just a perfect size. I imagined myself in the dorms at night studying for a test with a flashlight trying to be noticed by my roommate.
I like the cafeteria especially the food was delicious maybe because I was so hungry that it made it even more delicious. The level of hygiene observed was satisfactory. I also liked the type of food offered in the cafeteria.
What is something that you didn’t like about this college? Why? (At least one thing)
I didn’t like the idea of walking long distances to class. It is very exhausting. I expected to find that the classes and the dorms are not far.
What was your overall impression (feeling) of this college or university?
I think this university is a good place to pursue my course of choice.
Why? The staff members are dedicated and friendly. The students also seemed to be very nice. The overall environment is just conducive to learning.

Does the university offer online classes? If so which are these courses?
This university offers over 1000 online classes. Some of the courses include accounting, economics, computer science and statistics.

Could you see yourself attending this college or university? Why or why? If not, what is it missing that you want out of a college?
Yes. I think this college is one of the best colleges in Texas. I think the resources are adequate and the environment is conducive. I would like to study at this university.

Is there something that you would have liked to do or see on this college visit that you didn’t get a chance to?
Yes. I would have loved to visit the laboratories, but I did not get the chance. I wanted to find out what types of equipment are used.

Reflecting on this visit, what is one question you would like to ask on a future visit to a different college or university? What methods do the administration use to keep student from indulging in offenses?
