Commencement Speech for 2018 Graduating Class
The university management, government officials present, university staff, parents, and the dear grandaunts right in front of me, right afternoon. Apparently, it is impossible to hide my joy and honor for having a lifetime rare opportunity to deliver a commencement speech to this auspicious 2018 graduating class of Buffalo University. However, I know your success has not been single-handedly managed and therefore will have a few statements to direct to not only the parents who are the key stakeholders in this university but also to the hardworking and dedicated Buffalo University staff.
It is not my nature to give long addresses or even speeches; I am a man of few words just as you can conclude from my height. From the very onset, let me begin by passing my sincere congratulations to the BA Political Science graduating class of 2018. Nobody knows the actual value of education until the point you go through this rite of passage called graduation. I do not do in the academic sector and therefore am much aware of the serious efforts that you have made to reach this far. Not only does it take patience and determination, but also preceding other luxuries for the sake of your profession. Above all, prayer is critical at every step of life. It’s God who gives and takes and so it is paramount to provide respect and much adoration to him.
Dear grandaunts, nothing is more different in the professional field outside the university, it is the same knowledge and skills that you learned here at Buffalo University you will apply in your day to day working experience.

There is space for all of you to fit and work, but it will only favor the bold and aggressive ones. Just as the bible says, nobody lights a candle and puts it under the bed. In the same way, do not hide your knowledge, skills, and even talents from the employers; make them aware that somebody who is fully competent is available and ready to work for the betterment of our nation.
To the Buffalo University staff, you are indeed a great team. It is because of your efforts that these students can put a smile on their faces today on their graduation. Am pretty sure that some of the staff have been and still are great mentors and role models of the graduating class. Finally, Congratulations to the parents for raising such beautiful souls who are dedicated in serving our beloved nation. Ensuring fees is paid at the right time is no mean achievement. Thank you for finding that essential and dedicating yourselves in making their future an amazing one. On their behalf, I honestly want to assure you that they will not disappoint.
I have said a lot and hence beg to stop there. As you march out of this auspicious university, be a good ambassador of the institution. Be prayerful and hardworking to achieve the full fruits of your education. Congratulations again to the graduating class. God bless you.
