Name of the Student
Professor’s Name
Abstract
Global climate change is an area of concern across the world. Over the past two decades, there has been a significant change in global climate. Global climate change impacts the environmental, economical, social and healthcare scenario of different countries. The present article compares the impact of global climate change on the United States and the United Kingdom. It is anticipated that global climate change would increase the burden of various life-threatening diseases. The United States is anticipated to be more affected compared to the United Kingdom. Such differences are attributed to the geographical and climate differences existing between these two countries. The United States experiences longer summers and high rainfall than the United Kingdom. Hence, the threat of vector-borne diseases is more in the United States. The economic impact of global climate change is also estimated to be more in the United States compared to the United Kingdom.

An Appraisal of the Impact of Global Climate Change on the United States and the United Kingdom
Global climate change is an area of concern across the world. Different countries around the world are impacted by global climate change. Over the past two decades, there has been a significant change in global climate.

Wait! Comparison of Health Issue in the U.S. and Another Country paper is just an example!

These changes have been expedited through anthropogenic and natural activities. Global climate change impacts the environmental, economical, social and healthcare scenario of different countries. The major cause of global climate change has been attributed to global warming. Global warming refers to the continuous increase in the average surface temperature of the earth. Over the past four decades, the average surface temperature of the globe has increased by one degree centigrade. The major cause of global warming is attributed to an increased production of “Green House Gases.” These gasses trap the solar radiations on the surface of the earth and prevent them from being reflected into the atmosphere. As a result, the average surface temperature increases (Baehr, 2014). The present article compares the impact of global climate change on the United States and the United Kingdom.
Both of these countries have acknowledged the serious consequences of global climate change. Moreover, both these countries have witnessed the environmental and economic impacts of global climate change. The United Kingdom has witnessed life-threatening instances of flood during the summer of 2007. Moreover, the country has also witnessed a steady and significant increase in the level of greenhouse gasses. Hence, global climate change could cause potential damage to habitations, businesses, and health. Moreover, global climate change could also harm the infrastructure of a country leading to economic implications. Global climate change could also influence the price volatility in a country. The United States have similarly witnessed droughts, floods and involuntary relocations as a consequence of global climate change. Hence, the United States is also aware regarding the economic impact of global climate change. The country has recognized the threats of global climate change on U.S. and overall global economy (Clark, 2013).
Both of these countries have appropriately estimated the economic implications of global climate change. The United Kingdom has estimated that the harms expected from global climate change would rise to 12 million dollars by 2080. On the other hand, the United States has already allocated approximately 100 billion dollars for climate interferences till 2014. Moreover, the country anticipates that the global climate interferences would impose an additional burden of 100 billion dollars by 2030. From an economic perspective, it could be concluded that the United States would be more affected by global climate change compared to the United Kingdom. Hence, it can be anticipated that global climate change could have a differential impact on both these countries.
The differential impact of global climate changes could be attributed to the geographical and topographical differences existing between these countries. Although global climate change would have negative effects on both these countries, it is estimated that the United Kingdom could benefit from global climate change. Global climate change is anticipated to have a positive effect on the tourism industry in the United Kingdom. Moreover, global climate change would lead to increased yield of certain crops like sugar and wheat. Such benefits of global warming would not be perceived by the United States. Hence, the economic burden of global climate change would be more in the United States compared to United Kingdom (Global Warming Effects on The Economy, 2016).
It is also anticipated that global climate change would increase the burden of various life-threatening diseases. Once again, the United States is anticipated to be more affected compared to the United Kingdom. It is estimated that global climate change would increase the chances of various life-threatening diseases in the United States. For example, the incidences of malaria and other vector-borne diseases are estimated to be higher in the United States compared to the United Kingdom. Once again, these differences are accounted by the geographical and climate differences existing between these two countries. The United States experiences longer summers and high rainfall than the United Kingdom. These features ensure a tropical climate in the United States. Tropical climate favors the growth and spread of vectors associated with the genesis of vector-borne diseases. It is also estimated that global warming could impact the distribution of flora and fauna between two geographical regions. It is anticipated that global warming will favor immigration of insects from sub-tropical regions to tropical regions (Fernando, 2016). Hence, the United States is threatened with the risk of different life-threatening vector-borne diseases, compared to the United Kingdom.
To conclude, global warming could have different detrimental effects on the economy and health of a country. However, the impact of global climate change would vary between different countries. Hence, each country should appraise the impact of global climate change from an individualized perspective. The countries should make adequate provisions for negating the negative effects of global climate change. Each and every country should try to safeguard the agricultural yield and health of its population on the event of climatic catastrophes. Moreover, policy makers should frame stringent guidelines for preventing global climate change stemming from anthropogenic causes.
