The concept of tolerance used in the Moore and Walker article is referred to as the Walker and Avant model. Moore and Walker (2011) apply the Walker and Avant model to analyze the use of tolerance as an idea in fields, such as medicine, nursing, theological education and social science. The article focuses on identifying antecedents, attributes, and consequences, which help in illustrating the importance of developing broad ideas to create a proper definition of the concept of tolerance (McEwen & Wills, 2014). The concept’s cases are as follows, model, borderline, related, and contrary. These cases include different defining attributes, namely, willingness to allow, respect, empathy, acceptance and diminished response (Moore & Walker, 2011).
Like the concept development in the book, the first step of the article’s concept development method is concept analysis (McEwen & Wills, 2014). The article uses the concept analysis phase to introduce the different meanings of the idea of tolerance to bring together writers and readers (Moore & Walker, 2011). Secondly, the article’s concept development is similar to that in the textbook as it involves some concept synthesis methods (McEwen & Wills, 2014). For example, it uses literary analysis to focus on tolerance in disciplines, such as medicine, nursing, theological education and social science (Moore & Walker, 2011).

Wait! Concept Development Method Assignment paper is just an example!

It finds out that tolerance is applicable in the management of pain, alcohol addiction and cold (medicine and nursing), as well as a cultural, religious and global model (theological education and social science). However, some differences exist. On the one hand, the data sources for the concept of tolerance include literature review, cases, and a questionnaire, while on the other hand, the data sources for the textbook’s concept development are dictionary and literature.
