Reflective Learning Journal #3:
I chose creative curriculum as my model, which is a program designed to meets the primary or basic needs for the children. Typically, this model tries to balance both the teacher directed and children-initiated learning. Also, it emphasized responding to kid’s learning styles as it builds their strength or interests. The latest theory and research practices are applied in this curriculum to help children become independent, self-confidence and inquisitive learners. Kids are taught how to learn throughout their lives at their own pace and in best ways. In so doing, they can develop better habits, attitudes or a definite sense of themselves.
Thesis Statement: helping children become enthusiastic learners is an essential curriculum goal.
Below is a list of topics that may need be covered under this curriculum model:
• Theory and research incorporated in the model
• Ways in which kids develop and learn
• The learning environment for children
• Interest areas structured in the model
• What children through creative curriculum model
• The role of teachers and family
One of the Early Learning for Every Child Today (ELECT) principle is that; it is vital to have a partnership with families and communities. The way a curriculum can meet this policy is when family becomes engaged in providing care, love, and influence on kid’s learning, health, development or well-being.

Families and communities bring diverse social or cultural perspectives which introduce children to the new scope of environmental settings with new things to learn (Ontario, 2018). When home and learning institutions work jointly in constructive and dutiful ways, children would feel secure. If the two-environment become odd, children might suffer due to apathy or lack of understanding and inability to work together. Families are valuable contributors to children’s learning, and so are the educators.
Teachers are professionals with knowledge and experience that help bring diverse cultural perceptive to children. The collaboration of educators and other parties like the families help create an engaging environment to foster kid’s learning and development. My recommendation would be advising all parents and teachers to embrace creativity as a part of knowledge. As educators, they may need to create a classroom that acknowledges creativity by employing real-life situations to show how a problem is solved. In the process, they should engage all kids to make contributions to their examples, and in this way they would feel engaged in learning methods.

Theme: promoting unity among the kids
Activity: Attending church services
ELECT principle #1: When children attend church, it is a way of enhancing their spiritual growth which would help shape their lifetime behaviors and principles.
Activity: Doing homework with parents
ELECT principle #2: The act of family engagement to assist kids do their academic exercises strengthen kid’s ability to expand knowledge and creativity to tackle future problems.
Activity: Community members discussing children’s welfare
ELECT principle #3: When individuals gather to share experiences pertaining strategies that would impact development to kids, the partnership exercise equity and rights which honors children’s goals.
Activity: school board meeting to discuss curriculum programs.
ELECT principle #4: An effort to arrange an academic meeting that organizes early childhood education has advantages of planning active learning process for a child. The preparations help educators gather useful materials which are an essential resource that promotes children’s knowledge development.
Activity: Attending kid’s recreational events
ELECT principle #5: Involving children in activities like sports enable them to grow healthy and also allows an environmental interaction with others.
Activity: Drawing pictures in classroom
ELECT principle #6: Educators contribute significantly to helping kids discover and develop their talents. Teachers’ intervention enables children to express various interest and be committed to doing what they desire since there is someone to coach them.
Activity: playing with Siblings
HDLH Foundation #1: An event where children interact with their brother or sisters enables them to experience a sense of belonging to the family bond.
Activity: Buying new items
HDLH Foundation #2: Parent’s efforts to provide kids with essential items such as clothes food or shelter, promotes a state of well-being which eliminates stress to kids. As a result, a quality health state for kids gets developed.
Activity: sharing stories in classroom
HDLH Foundation #3: Teachers’ effort to give stories to children or to allow kids share their experience with others could have many impacts in promoting a foundation of engagement. Kids need to get engaged in learning activities by enabling contributions in problem-solving, and this would help develop confidence or skills of self-expression
Activity: Asking and answering questions addressed by parents or educators
HDLH Foundation #4: When the kid asks adults questions, it is then an exercise of freedom of expression, and parents or teachers should give a child an opportunity to let their views. Individuals should understand that the eagerness and determination of a child to know things is a process of garnering knowledge.
