Current primary and secondary education in our country

At present, education both in public or private schools at the primary and secondary level is no longer the same as a few years ago, now with technology control and values ​​in adolescents have been lost. Likewise, it is not only the fault of the teachers or directive part of the educational institution but also of the same parents who do not care about the education of their children and especially the lack of support of the Peruvian State. As we can see in Peru there are only 17 % of students studying both private and public and other people work or do nothing productive for life.

With this, it is located in the last place among the countries of Latin America that paid the evidence in the subjects of understanding texts and sciences, and in the penultimate in the area of ​​mathematics. Studies carried out that students who obtain the lowest results in performance evaluations are those who have teachers who show the lowest domain of the content they teach.

The problem is not recent in Peruvian students. They also state that one of the main factors that limit their educational work is the lack of educational materials, either because they are insufficient or because they are inadequate. Peru is the country that invests the least in education in South America, taking into account the percentage of GDP. Just 3.7% of GDP is allocated to educational activities, thus, the average budget of a regular school per student is 459 soles. Without investment, much can be done, except to try to use the resources that are already maximum.

In turn, being the basis for the development of the country, there are many urgent challenges that are still pending to improve education and be able to consolidate ourselves as an economically and socially stable country.

One of the big problems in education is to reduce illiteracy according to data from the Ministry of Education (MINEDU), the illiteracy rate in Peru is 5.9%, being more than 1 million 300 thousand people who do not know how to read or write. Likewise, illiterate people are very small of having a formal job and are more prone to their relatives present the same difficulties.

Therefore, companies that want to evolve, care more about the capacity for reasoning and the attitude of which they incorporate. Access to Higher Education according to the statistics of Educational Quality (Scale) of the Ministry of Education, only 3 out of 10 young people access higher education in Peru. A really low figure that is mainly due to the economic issue. The fact that they do not study hinders access to stable and formal work, which is reflected in statistics: 1.4 million young people between 15 and 29 years do not study or work. This often gives way to young people falling into vices such as game or drug addiction. In this sense, the support of private companies through scholarships and investment constitutes one of the main ways to reduce the gap and support talent.

To improve the country’s education and have quality professionals SUENEDU must continue with the licensing of universities. One of the most important steps in terms of higher education is to ensure educational quality. While Sunedu has initiated the national licensing of universities, there are still many that are on their way to achieve it. Of 143 universities that exist in the country, 54 have licensing, that is, more than half do not yet carry out this process.

In summary, the State is investing large amounts of money in education and has the right to demand good results, and that its money does not invest in luxurious buildings. Teachers must also teach their students to think so that they have their own criteria.

As we see most of the subjects do not require memorization and, nevertheless, the teachers both primary and secondaryly insist that students continue to memorize data that they can easily obtain by different means. If we do not manage to motivate the students and interest them in the different subjects, then the future professionals will have at the end of their studies a degree that will only help them hang it on the wall.
