Dine Out Against Hunger Fundraiser on Tuesday, April 24th
In line with the mission of Weatherford Food and Resource Center to provide nutritious and healthy foods to hunger-stricken neighbors in Custer County and Weatherford, the not-for-profit entity is organizing for a dine-out fundraiser against hunger that is scheduled for the 24th of April. During the dine-out, a portion of the bill from all the customers will be dedicated to purchasing food and supplies for the needy families. The event is scheduled to take place at the organization’s outlets in Oklahoma City.
It is important to note that the Weatherford Food and Resource Center offers various services to the people of Custer County. These services include the access to healthy and fresh fruits and vegetables, financial literacy classes, nutrition education, dental services, and client choice shopping for healthy foods. The organization acknowledges the fact that 22 percent of nearly all children and 15 percent of nearly all adults in Custer County lack consistent access to healthy foods. It is with this in mind that the organization is mobilizing people of all ages, professions, and backgrounds to take part in the dine-out and help in raising enough funds, food products, and other supplies that will be instrumental in helping the needy individuals in Custer County and its surrounding. The event features various volunteers, donors, and officials from the city of Weatherford.
