This study talks about the usage of videogames in education. It covers subjects such as educational gaming and how children and teens would probably make better use of the games, compared to conventional classrooms.

This article covers the usage of computers and their usage in education. It is focused on showing teachers ways on how to keep current with the newer technologies. To Balaisis, as the computers will take the burden of giving lectures, the teachers will become more like tutors able to give personal attention to the student’s needs.

Griffiths considers that videogames could be effectively used in education as they teach skills such as hand-eye coordination, spatial visualization, and problem solving skills. The investigation on videogames has gone quite far, says Griffiths, and using them effectively in education should not be regarded as something negative.

Kirsh considers that videogames could be a negative influence in children and adolescents’ behavior, since they would surely mimic what they see in the games. We strongly disagree with this researcher and cited him only to argument against him.

This paper is about the author’s experience regarding distance and e-learning. The researcher speaks about her experiences on the differences between electronic and traditional media, and consider that they should not exclude each other, but work together.

Ray and Jat also consider that video games are pernicious for children and adolescents, they and Kirsh have the same objections toward videogames. Jat and Ray consider that videogames could alter the perception of what’s real, hence, altering the children and their learning process. We also disagree with these investigators.

The research considers that instead of develop laziness and aggressive behaviors, videogames bolster the cognitive processes, self-esteem, and help players relax.

Web. <http://www.br-online.de/jugend/izi/english/publication/televizion/25_2012_E/orde_educational tv.pdf>.Vom Orde states that from the beginning of the television, it has been used to educate, but sadly those who watch it, shun the educational aspect of television, focusing on the entertainment. This is not necessarily bad, but it is not what educational shows are meant for. He also states that most of the educational shows are aimed for younger children, as they are in need of visual instructions that could help them learn and improve their language.
