Purpose Statement
The purpose of this proposed qualitative multiple case study is to explore effective internal controls strategies over ERP systems some casino business leaders use to reduce the risk fraudulent and erroneous transactions and reporting. The population for this study will include 6 to 8 casino business leaders from three casinos in Mississippi who have successfully implemented effective internal control strategies over their ERP systems. The implication for positive social change could increase transparency and integrity in the operations of the casinos including the corporate social responsibility and thus enhance the social life of local communities.
It is not my goal to explore the lived experiences of participants, thus a phenomenological approach is not suitable. Ethnography is a broad technique used by researchers to explore the characteristics of a culture (Dhar, 2014). The ethnographic approach is inappropriate for my study as I am not exploring a cultural phenomenon. Researchers use a case study design defined by Yin (2017) as a detailed exploration of a bounded system using multiple data collection techniques, to explore a bounded system in its place and time (Marshall & Rossman, 2016). I selected a case study design to gather and gain in-depth knowledge and rich data to explore a bounded system in its natural setting.
Implications for Social Change
The results from this study could contribute to social change by determining how implementing internal control systems facilitates transparency and accountability in the operations of the Casinos with the aim of propelling a positive social change.

For instance, Casinos leaders that develop effective internal controls will improve the social-cultural well-being of the community by providing a consistent and transparent employment process. The internal controls also ensure the casino’s operations are in the best interests of the community.
