The success of Hot Topic and Torrid can be attributed to their corporate culture of identifying with music and fashion respectively. The basis of the culture is the passion for a concept with which the company is differentiated from the others in the industry. The culture not only helps in inspiring sales and the products they sell but also the design and even their employees whom they hire. The employees of Hot Topic are fiercely loyal due to the great working environment provided by the company and also the appreciation for their contribution to the organization (Marouf, 2016). The company ensures that the employees are happy and feel appreciated for their contribution to the company. In addition, the company offers perks to their employees in form of cell phone discounts, onsite massages, and even reimbursement on their scholarships expenditures. Hot Topic has a role in ensuring continued success in their business which can be enabled through research and development which aims at satisfying the customers and the employees. The company should also keep track of changes in the industry and change the structure accordingly.
The idea of open office plan in the corporate headquarters contributes to the efforts of the corporate culture that the company is trying to perpetuate through improving collaboration, open communication, and empowerment.
