Scenario one
Task 1
The main types of discrimination that Marietta is likely to experience in the day care Centre are; discrimination towards disability, discrimination towards gender, and the fact that she knows little English, the discrimination towards language. The fact that Marietta is disabled, the kind of treatments that she will get from other members of the day care center will be different. She will be overlooked as someone who is not able to carry out her duties as any physically fit individuals. On top of Marietta’s disability, the fact that she is a lady makes some of the members of the day Centre not to value her much like the male gender in the same center. Finally, since Marietta knows little English, most people would not want to speak to her or try to teach her English language, and this will make her feel discriminated and alienated as well.
Olutola is able to work in the daycare setting if and only if she does not show any discrimination against the disabled. Olutola should also try to take her time and story with the patients she takes care of so as to know their ways of lives. During the care, Olutola should be conversant with the beliefs of the patients in terms of their religion. This will enlighten Olutola on doctrines of the patients’ religion, their dos and the don’ts as required by their religion. The caretakers should be well conversant with some of the things that these disabled value in their lives. The things that are much valued by the people in the day care setting should be taken care of by Olutola so that Marietta and her fellows feel that they are respected by those taking care of them.

Olutola should also try as much as possible to meet Marietta’s preferences to ensure that Marietta has a conducive environment and stay whenever she is in the day center setting since she only attends twice in a week. Olutola should ensure that she maintains good relationship with her fellow workers in the day center and also ensure that she become friendly as much as possible so that she does not go against their way of lives
The care offered by Olutola will be fruitful if she promotes equality between the fellow workers and those they are taking care of. Olutola should ensure that she diversify her knowledge by interacting with the fellow workers and the patients that she is taking care of in the day center setting. She should ensure that there is no discrimination in the workplace with relation to the gender of the people she interacts with and even the status of such people. Olutola will ensure that there is equality if she gives attention to the patients she takes care of just as she does to the other people who do not have any disability. The way Olutola handles the disabled in terms of conversations she carries with them will make these patients feel that they are not different from the physically fit people in the day center setting as well as in the society at large. Through sharing of cultural activities will help Olutola to diversify on the beliefs and the preferences of the people she works with in the workplace as well as those that she takes care of. Some of the activities that bring these diversities are getting involved in the cultural practices such as games and other cultural activities like narrations. Olutola should ensure that she reduce the risk of discrimination by taking time with the disabled and treating them equality just like those who are fit physically. She should also ensure that she shows concern by teaching the disabled such as Marietta how to speak English and even involve them in the discussion that requires both the disabled and the physically fit, the males and females without any discrimination.
Task 2
The four sources of information on diversity and equality that can help me in terms of my conduct when working with the user service are; the commission dealing with quality care, skill for care council, individual’s care plan and the equality of human rights commission. Individual’s care plan Personalizes care planning, and it goes far beyond the normal clinical or medical conditions. It goes an extra mile and looks into other areas dealing with the individual’s life and puts into consideration that many different issues can result in the health and well-being of the disabled individuals. The individual’s care plan will enable me to give special attention to the patients and to ensure that there is no discrimination when it comes to handling these disabled individuals. The equality of human right commission is dealing with the right of individuals in the country and these rights ensure that there is no discrimination in the entire country or state. With the information from the equality of human right commission, I would be able to know how to handle the disabled since am well enlightened about the human rights and the equality that in one way or the other does not require discrimination. Through my knowledge about the equality of human rights, am able to diversify the way of lives of the different people in the center where I will work. The skills care enhances the skills of the care done to the individuals who are in the nursing home. Due to the fact that there is an enhancement of the skills I will be able to handle with care the patients that I will be working with without discrimination and with a lot of equality. Finally, the quality care commission ensures that there is enough care for the patients. I will try to show my ability regarding the equality to the patients and also ensure that there is no discrimination to the sick or the disabled.
Scenario Two
Task 3
The four ways in which David’s case may be challenged and report the discrimination that occurs in the school involves considering the students to be equal and all of them that take the same subject should be given the opportunity to attend any educational trip regardless of their physical status. Since the school can accommodate both the disabled and the physically fit students, the trip should also accommodate both categories as well and this lead to propose for the London trip where David can be accommodated as well as any other students. The school principal should also put into account that all students should have an equal education just like their fellows and therefore David should be included in the trip that can easily fit him and that is in London. The fact that Belvedere building does not accommodate for the wheelchairs, clearly indicate that the management are very discriminative and therefore, it should be avoided as much as possible and so the students should go to London for the theater show.
It is the duty of every school to give the required education to the students that the administration admitted in that institution. Therefore, it is the responsibility to ensure that David gets an equal share of education similar to the classmate without discrimination. The school should also admit the students that they are able to handle. David being one of the admitted students in the school, the school is able to handle him like any other student in the compound who is physically fit and therefore the school and the administration have no option but to take David to a trip where he can easily fit. The fact that the subject is offered in the school, the principal and another staff member should try so much to offer the required standard of education to all students, and this includes taking these students to academic trip including David.
Task 4
When considering the two instances, it is important for the society to practice equality as well as being diversified since it enables the society and the people in the workplace to know how to handle the disabled. Through diversity, the staff of the school where David studies should be in a position to know that there is another theater in central London where the same play could be displayed. On the other hand, Olutola is also able to know how to handle Marietta and even how to work with the fellow workers in the support care center. Diversity gives an insight to the individual who takes care of the disabled and the sick in their nurturing homes as well as in their places of studies. Equality should also be practiced in the two instance to show the disabled, such as Marietta and David, that they are not different from other people regardless of their physical status. When the disabled are treated equally as those that are physically fit, they don’t feel alienated, and it shows that they have value in the society where they are. The equality is evident in the Antonio and David’s parents who feel that these disabled should be treated just like other people in the society.
