The nursing curriculum keeps up with the pace of the healthcare. For this reason, nursing schools need to consider an innovative approach to clinical instruction. Seven years ago, one of the many nursing faculties changed the conventional sessional role of a clinical instructor into a “Nursing Practice Instructor role” to be able to facilitate in the integration between practice and theory in both off and on-campus settings. Globalization is a new phenomenon that has taken root in almost all aspect of the world dynamics today. Almost all aspects of our lives have been affected by this component. It is indeed an inevitable topic due to the way in which globalization continues to shape our lives (Salminen, Metsämäki, Numminen & Leino-Kilpi, 2013).
Self-care is a principle in which nursing professionals and other health workers are empowered to concentrate on their own physical, mental and psychological health. The major interest for the nursing cadre over this topic is due to the close association between patients and nurses. The nature of the health profession has meant that health workers cater for diverse needs of patients to realize holistic care. This means that nurses will handle patient needs ranging from medical services to providing reassurance over their health. This holistic approach has meant that nursing professionals receive a great burden of patient care (Burnard, 2011).

To some extent, it is arguable to state that the cons of the globalization tend to outweigh the pros. This essay has sought to highlight the issue of globalization in healthcare while placing special emphasis on the pros and cons of such a system.
“An unaffordable plan?” – Rationale
Globalization is thought to expose nurses for instance to dangerous medical practices. Globalization of medical principles including research brings ethical concerns especially in the context of developing countries. It is widely known that with the advent of globalization of healthcare, especially in African countries, human subjects may be exposed to unhealthy medical practices. Multinational drug companies especially have been implicated in the exploitation of human subjects in developing their drugs (Evans, 2018). With world health bodies such as the WHO legalizing the testing of drugs outside the drug companies’ jurisdictions, most of them have made a rush to developing nations in a bid to use human subjects to develop their drugs. Analysts have consistently claimed that human subjects in these countries are used as guinea pigs for the benefit of drug companies and other health organizations. While world health bodies have continually advocated for globalization in healthcare, there have done little to introduce legislation to look into ethical concerns of research such as the one explored above. As a result, due to the globalization, citizens in developing countries have consistently been exploited for the advantage of certain interest parties such as drug companies. This problem has arisen due to numerous reasons that shape different jurisdictions (Frissell, 2010).

Patient care is often very demanding to the nurses, a factor that makes them constantly engaged and committed to their patients. Because the profession demands for sacrifice on the part of the professional, most nurses often find themselves battling work-related stress. However, ultimately, this conviction affects their mental, physical and emotional well-being. The numerous benefits of self-care are reasonable enough for administrators to engage in ways of finding techniques of achieving these principles. This has prompted various administrators and leaders to look into the issues with the view of enabling professionals achieve self-care principles. The starting point of observing self-care is the management of stress that comes with the work.
Administrators have set up in-service training programs in a bid to enable the workers handle their stress better. Most of these in-service trainings are designed in the form of seminars and other continuous medical education. However, the question that remains is whether in service training has an impact on self-care. This is especially with regards to the impact of the intervention in enabling professionals to handle their work related stress.
