People experience varying situations and lead different lifestyles based on their goals and dreams. It has been my dream to prosper in life as I venture through various levels of life including my education, cultural and social life. In this paper, I will address various areas that characterize my life including hardship, diversity and cultural awareness, leadership and familial, educational background. My close relationships and family members have been a pillar and hold a substantive position as their influence led me to success and overcoming of life challenges. Although my education journey hasn’t been easy due to recurring challenges, my family members and close friends believed in me and held huge responsibilities in ensuring that I pursue a college education. Depression has been one of the challenges in my life though I managed to formulate ways of dealing with the situation. I began my higher education at a local community college, and I am very optimistic to pursue a degree course in business from the University of Washington. Besides, I had started a small business which turned out to be successful and offered major experiences relevant to my business classes. Currently, I am working with the department of dispatch for a particular company and am very happy as my role is to make sure the dispatching people always get their jobs ready.
Despite being successful in my education, I have faced challenges and obstacles that led to depression in my life.

It was hard managing my studies and taking care of grandpa. With immense grief, I felt lost, overwhelmed and defeated. It has been one of my obstacles in all of my education. I have primarily, realized and learned the best way of managing it via exercise as well as getting up every morning but very early. Though, the depression has helped me in one of my most profound and many thoughtful ways. Unfortunately, my grandpa passed away while in my second year of study in college and brought pain and difficulties with my studies.
Change of learning centers has characterized my learning phase with constant transfers from one college to another. It has been facilitated by my dream to study in colleges that help me build and grow my career. My most recent college was a community college and offered little assistance to my dream in majoring in business. I was prompted to transfer from the community college to venture mainly in the business field of study in a college that has more resources and prominent in business. Through my entire college journey, I was a medical major, and during that time, I had to battle with my classes because I had not decided on what course to do for my career in life. I had to choose to become a major in business, and fortunately, my grades improved. From the look of my grades from several universities in the first two years, I was struggling to cope up. This situation made me change from my major in the last two years, and they have then improved so much.
Becoming a marketing major is my intended main career aspiration in life as well as doing sorts of marketing based on a professional sports team. In all my whole life, have been in around of diversity and here coming to the best college, my dreams have been answered. The major has been my career dream and am not by any chance changing or wish to do so in future business is known to be the pioneer of the spirit of any nation as well as being the Pacific Northwest for it elevates our country to the following century. Further, I am from a very successful entrepreneurial family and have seen how communities may be changed through business. After finishing my education, I would like to be an entrepreneur like my family. The University of Washington would build me up because it is a business school and is one among the best universities in the country.
Culture has been very influential in my life, and I have learned a lot about the society and myself. My cultural history has impacted and changed my lifestyle in various ways. I have risen from a very liberal family and a conservative community. It has made me a more open-minded person who could have been otherwise. I thoroughly understand traditional as well as for the liberal ideology within our nation. Though with all these, I have learned to understand and respect for all sets of values. People usually have different cultures due to their family background. In my case, I will have to establish a productive collaborative relationship as this would involve things like flexibility, sharing as well as commitments which will open lines of understanding and communication. It is an area of challenge while in the college for many students more so those transferring like me.
It would be important to note that despite my challenges in academics in the past, I have been performing well in the area of leadership. I have been at the forefront in organizing and conducting group discussions on some business concepts that were problematic to the students. I am also a supervisor at my current job at the airport where I help coordinate various activities and bring out the best in everybody. I, therefore, believe I am all-rounded and would be of great value to the Institution and the society in general.
I believe that the University of Washington is not just among the Institutions that will help me attain my academic, personal, and career goals, it is the only one for me. I have always admired the Institution’s emphasis on a hands-on approach to teaching and being the best in the country, has all that it takes to equip one with all the requirements that it takes to be successful in the world of business.
