The act of availing and accessing information across a wide range of cultures through communication ways such as reading, speaking, listening and writing is what is referred to as global communication. It is so significant in a business environment especially when language and other things like cultural barricades play a key role in affecting the state of business efficiency. In other words, global communication stands merely for connection, sharing, relation and mobility across a variety of aspects of life including political, social and economic divides.
Forms of Global Communication
Global communication is categorized into internal and external communication. Internal communication usually takes place within a business involving the CEOs and the employees. It, therefore, depends on the information that is relayed within an organization from employers, employees and even the support staff (Danes, 2009). On the hand, external communication lays focus on the information which is conveyed outside a business organization. In most cases, this is an international affair; communication between two teams from different geographic locations.
Global communication might have played a different role in the 20th century from what it is meant for in the current world. The reason why it was not so important by then was that there was little or less recognition of communication and international relations, especially after the cold war.

However, advances in technology put many people on the know and soon it was endorsed. Currently, in the advent of globalization, global communication has gained a lot of significance. Trade and cultural understanding between nations have been promoted as a result.
Global Communication in the Business World
The world of business relies entirely on communication. Without a steady link of communication between associates in an organization or between organizations there can be much to lose (Sarah, 2013). Poor and inadequate communication has always created serious faults in business. Imagine if an instance where a deadline was overdue, a customer complaint not attended to and employees not getting well-informed updates in time about business; it can be so tricky to stabilize with such inconveniences usually brought about by inefficiencies in communication. With a good business communication, such situations are just but history (Bertram, 2014).
For one to have a good communication achieved, it means a message should be sent and received by an audience in its original state without any alterations in the content. In a business environment, there may occur a communication between co-workers on the one-on-one basis. In such a scenario, the message needs to be clear without distortions. It is agreeable that good business communications bear good results. Jobs are well carried out, on a timely basis and the most appropriate budget. A business organization’s success relies on the conciseness and coherence of team members, employees or employers in communicating the organization’s objectives, goals and development plans. In the day’s business world that full of complexities and competitions, such people who can communicate coherently are the most essential. They tend to be promoted as their responsibilities increase because they prove to be good communicators of business information. This means good communicators usually do some credible work in organizations.
As indicated earlier at the start of this document, global communication has gained importance especially in the dynamic world of technology. Many more forms of communicating have been created unlike in the past where people relied on few of them. Most business organizations nowadays are enjoying the universal state of devices of communication. It is easier to carry out business errands using phones, laptops and other communication devices in communicating with fellow employees in an organization. These gadgets are easy to use and readily accessible. It should, however, be noted that business organizations need to come up with ways of achieving information for access at a later stage when using the modern communication. For instance, salespersons in companies need to achieve emails to and from clients to ascertain that real job specs are available at the ready with proper job handling (Bertram, 2014).
The global economy that is there today cannot thrive without cross-cultural communication. To grow businesses, communicators should be well versed with the cultural, national and ethnic groups targeted. They need to have a good knowledge of the language of a certain people they intend to communicate to so as not to lose sales or delay projects. There are fact managers and team members need to know; success businesses rely on simple and understood business communication. Hard-to-understand languages are of no use when trying to communicate a profitable piece of information to a group. Communication should always be concise and simple.
Global communication also suffers noise problem. The decoding of a message can be interfered with by an encoder. Noise in this context may take the form of grammatical mistakes in messages, poor communication structures which are uneasily interpreted, assumptions of stereotypes and some attitudinal perceptions. These problems have a solution. There should always be coordination between sender and receiver of the message where feedback is an indicator that the entire message was understood.
