The Renaissance and how it has influenced the state of Maryland
The Renaissance was a period that prioritized religion, human life and security. It was an era that was associated with peace and prosperity. During this period people had the opportunity to be creative and do whatever they were passionate about. They, therefore, engaged in painting, music, the sculpting of theatre or other things. During this era, many discoveries were made which played a significant role in transitioning from the middle age to the modern era. The middle age was believed to be a time where there was little or no advancements. People during this period were living in ignorance, and the church was the only thing they believed in. Beliefs were centered on superstitions instead of philosophy. On the other hand, Renaissance was referred to as ‘rebirth,” and it is whereby the advancement in education, art, and other areas occurred. It was a time of revival from the stagnation and social decline that had been prevalent in the middle ages.
The state of Maryland has a rich history, culture, and works of art that were shaped by various historical experiences. It has historic houses, buildings as well as gardens that attract many visitors locally and internationally. The state of Maryland has various museums that showcase the paintings and photography of artists which have lasted for many years.Renaissance has contributed a lot in today’s society.

It helped people focus on realistic and humanist perspectives. Renaissance has helped the state of Maryland appreciate and preserve the fine arts that are there today in museums and other places. The event also helps in wakening the interest and appreciation of arts for those who were not interested or were not included in the arts (Lytle 56).
The Renaissance had a great effect on the state of Maryland’s development, culture, government, art and other areas. The ideals of the church that continued to influence the state of Maryland changed with Renaissance since humanism and realism became stronger with this event. People began to recognize their need for achieving their human potential. Additionally, scientific inquiry changed the people’s culture and continued to influence it till today. Realism became evident when literature and art were realized by various American society and figures. In regards to art, Renaissance changed the way writers used to write. In the middle ages, writers had focused more on writing religious materials. On the other hand, Renaissance motivated a new kind of writers who focused on real things that happened in life. People were now able to enjoy literary work and style, meaning and politics (Hollingsworth 123).
Leonardo DA Vinci, a famous painter, is known for his realist paintings. His paintings also inspired scientific observation. His works also began the initial studies in human anatomy and other scientific developments. It also influenced scientists to begin research that would end up with conclusions or empirical evidence. According to him, science and art can be combined to get various technologies such as video games which use realistic characters and physics to make them interesting (D’Elia 34).
In the state of Maryland science is still essential to human life. Science affects our culture as well as societal functions. A writer and philosopher, Francis Bacon was behind the idea that science is a process which begins by experimentation and ends with observation before concluding. He was important because he proved that there was a difference between religion and philosophy which affects our education system till today.
Marylands Arts and entertainment districts have a great contribution to the economy. They provide about 6000 jobs and about $199 million in wages. The arts also contribute about 571.4 million to the state GDP and about 38.5 million in taxes per year. A recent report by Maryland State Arts Council state that the state of Maryland has a lively Arts community that receives its support from the council. Performing arts companies involved in the production of music, theatre, dance as well as opera. On the other hand, visual arts companies comprise of museums, film-making, gallery as well as design organizations. Other companies are involved in multidisciplinary arts, radio and TV programs, produce festivals as well as folk arts (Ponzini 1043).
The Renaissance helped in the growth of the state of Maryland due to people engaging in the arts professionally or for recreation purposes. Many people participate in activities of the arts organization which help in raising a lot of money and also result in the development of the cities through the taxes that are used in sustaining projects. Students from Maryland participate in the arts which have led to fewer behavior issues. It has also led to improved performance and positive views in regards to college attendance. The arts are also associated with increased mental development as well as emotional health. Students tend to carry these positive outcomes into adulthood, which makes the labor force attractive. Arts originated from the event of the Renaissance, and it has become a crucial part of Maryland’s economy. It has also been critical in fostering creativity in the state (Pisano 74).
