Howard Energy Plan
Every country needs to have a good energy plan which will help reduce the level of air pollution which is majorly caused by the fossil fuels used by many machines such as vehicles (Araya). Therefore, having a good energy plan should be given a priority for Howard County since their future environment is at stake. The paper explores an energy plan which the county needs to adopt in order to prevent the negative impact of climate change.
A decent and continuance energy plan for Howard
Before embarking good energy plan, the Howard County government need to evaluate the cost of the plan and then compare it with the impact. A good energy plan which Howard county needs to have in the next five to ten years assuming there will be an increase in the number of people, vehicles, and buildings is the adoption of the renewable source of energy such rooftop solar and both onshore and offshore wind power. Rooftop solar provides a suitable alternative since it does not compete with the other uses of land (Zalk and Paul 1). One only needs to have it installed on the roof of an already erected building. Similarly, the use of offshore wind to generate power avoids the competition of land use since the power plant will be constructed in water bodies. Onshore wind power also allows a safe coexistence since where the power plants are built other activities such as farming or building of roads can take place.
On the other hand, supposing there was no increase in people, development plans or cars, the county can adopt hydroelectric power and biomass.

Wait! Howard energy plan paper is just an example!

For instance, with hydroelectric power, the county government will need to build water reservoirs that will be used to generate electricity and this might consume a large space of land (Zalk and Paul 1). With biomass, a lot of lands is also used and their technology leads to a competition of land with other forms of agricultural use.
Some of the questions I would ask the local authorities and the citizens before embarking on my plan is whether they support the initiative of combating the global effect of climate change. Also, I would ask them if they would rather enjoy having more space that is polluted than limited space with less pollution. With these, I will be seeking to convince them to adopt the renewable sources of energy.
