Music is one of the significant parts of educational experience among many individuals. Indeed, it becomes painful to witness how schools or learning institutions are today losing their musical programs and related topics on music. Learning institutions have reduced music classes and eliminated the basic requirements of music topics a fact that has affected the subject adversely. Most learning institutions lack general music classes and tuition especially for learners above grade 8. It must be accepted that playing and listening to musical tunes aid towards relieving stress among individuals. One, therefore, tends to experience a relaxed environment when listening to music tunes. This essay therefore tends to give comprehensive arguments on the importance of music in an individual’s life.
There are various arguments on the importance of music and art programs and how they are significant in life. It should be noted that the programs related to music and art are fun and important to the educational experience. First, music is one of the entertainment tools. The presentation of music gives ample enjoyment to audiences. However, music can also be employed to soothe someone, mourn, celebrate success, heal, as well as honor. Interestingly enough, music is treated as a universal language that brings joy and fun to the audiences. Its main purpose is to relieve the souls of the audiences from any stress.
Secondly, music is capable to bring people together and motivates them emotionally.

The power of music as felt in the heart of the audiences can bring together people from diverse backgrounds and uplift them emotionally. In this aspect, music can be employed as the best platform for maintaining peace especially when there are conflicts among individuals from various parts of the globe. This aspect of music can be noticed especially when one has issues with a partner, and they start playing musical tunes that they love most (McDermott et al. 706). Interestingly enough, the annoyance in one’s mind is likely to reduce gradually as a result of effects of musical tunes.
Music is also essential and can help an individual to express themselves with ease. It has been noticed that the best way which an individuals can express their joy, happiness, anger, love, or any feelings is through listening to musical tunes. It is posited that in the event that words and letters fail to address an issue, then it is through music that such issues will be settled (Levinowitz 4-7). The intention of the heart can be expressed via music which is not possible to achieve through words as well as letters. Indeed human’s heart can be best expressed through the use of music. Ideally, music is the means of expression. It provides a platform for emotion and creativity that no any other means of communication can attempt. Its subjective nature teaches one about the importance of having personal opinions.
Furthermore, music creates amazing images in the mind of the audience. Music and lyrics have the efficacy and ability to take one back in the days a factor that is compared to a time machine. Music helps in revisiting the lost moments and forgotten memories in the history of mankind. Through music, one gets an opportunity to paint the lost pictures like it has been depicted in most classical and country music that mostly tell the past stories. It is in this aspect that one tends to argue that music imitates the life of humankind. It is easy to reconstruct the past using music as a tool. This is because human memories get buried with time and music tends to reconstruct such events just like yesterday.
The importance of music has also been attributed to academic-related issues. This depicts the reasons as to why most schools provide music lessons to the young ones. It should be noted that music help in training the brain to think higher than expected. According to the recent research by psychologists, it is evidenced that students who underwent music training scored 27% higher on the test that they were given in various categories (Kelstrom 34). Music can wire the minds of young ones towards higher performance in academic-related issue. This is a vital importance to the growth of the nation since likeminded individuals who are capable of running the nation are produced. Ideally, the effectiveness of music can be evident in preliminary stages of education when one tends to learn how to spell and write ABC.
In conclusion, it is agreed that music plays a significant role in the life and well-being of humanity. This essay has identified some of the significant effects of music as depicted by various scholars. Ideally, it is depicted that music help in relieving stress and hence motivates or elevates an individual’s feeling. It is also ideal for higher academic performance. Music can also heal the past experiences and events that get buried with time. Most importantly, music can aid in bringing people together and solve their differences a factor that is ideal for national integration. Indeed, music is the best tool to express ones feeling rather than words and letters.
