I will agree there are forgivable lies. By far and large a lie is a lie and going by the morals it is a vice that would not be condoned. Leaders in public limelight are often implicated in scandals where they acquired one thing or the other false fully. In the article, some incidences have been brought forth where American president lied to the citizens. As much as I would like to consider a lie as a vice, I believe there is much more to consider, and this includes the intents and motives behind a lie. People may lie to protect their loved ones, to avoid conflicts and to settle an argument (Blake, 1). In other incidences, these American presidents lied in a bid to draw support from their leaders. In such cases, these lies were committed for good interests and so would it be for partners.
When a lie is noted, it goes untold that anger suffices between partners and in most cases, an argument will ensue. The first reaction would be to allow the anger to quell. Decision made out of violence is bound to be misinformed. Admitting that one lied is a bold and a brave step, but the Victims should then make their partners understand the motive behind that lie. Partners should aim at restoring each other’s trust by refraining from committing the vice again.
In an instance where the partner lied to protect a loved one, the reaction should be positive. The feeling of care and concern from a loved one is a thing to be cherished. But all in all, it is worth to agitate for honesty.

Partners who get used to lying in the name of protecting their loved ones may find themselves lying even when there is no need. Promoting honesty builds trust among partners and helps them to live in harmony.
