Magna Carta vs The Bill of Rights
Magna Carta is a set of laws that were issued by King John of England in 1215. The Magna Carta was enshrined as the law to appease the English land barons. This set of statute asserts every person regardless of their position must comply with it. On the other hand, the Bill of Rights was established in 1791 as part of the United States Constitution. It represents ten amendments that are part of the first amendment that was done to the constitution (Siegan 23). In essence, the Magna Carta and The Bill of Rights are related since the United States Constitution was formed on the basis of the Magna Carta.
There are similarities between the Magna Carta and the Bill of Rights. In 1215, the barons of King John presented him with various demands since he was acting like a tyrant. The requirements would see the King’s powers checked. Furthermore, it ensured that the laws were fair and that everyone would be treated equally regardless of their economic prowess. Thus, it provided for the rule of law in the country. Similarly, the Bill of Rights the first amendment guaranteed the American citizens rights. Some of the rights included the right and freedom of religion and speech. Furthermore, the Bill of Rights advocates for a fair trial that observes the due process of the law. Thus, just as the Magna Carta, the Bill of Rights limits what the power and the influence of the government. On the other hand, there are also some differences between the two laws (Siegan 25).

The inception of the Magna Carta was not to save everyone in the community, but the wealthy barons. It only applied to lords and a few free men. However, the Bill of Rights protected everyone in the country.
