Eye Contact
Is a form of communication that happens when people, look into each other‘s eyes at ago. Researchers argue that this form of communication has a significant impact on social behavior (Mehrabian 20). In some other cases, Eye contact demonstrates confidence, respect, and social interaction. Other than providing insights about eye contact, as shown above, this research aims at explaining the importance of eye contact. Details are as described below.
Importance of Eye Contact
One of the most critical aspects of eye contact in communication is that it reveals our thoughts and feelings. In regards to this, the eyes reveal what we are thinking and feeling in every moment. Therefore, the eyes give us much relevant and timely information and ideas about someone‘s state. In most instances, people tend to hide such information from our body language and facial expressions. On the other hand, eye contact, is a form of simultaneous relationships, where we are not required to express ourselves as in talking.
Secondly, eye contact is crucial and essential since it demonstrates attention. The notion of providing someone an eye contact as they speak or communicate with other people is a powerful tool, which shows attention and interest to whatever that is being said. Also, it demonstrates that one respects the counterpart who is speaking, making the communication more effective.
Besides, eye contact demonstrates confidence and trustworthiness in several aspects.

It requires a lot of courage to maintain eye contact. Such reflects some level of trust with the speaker as a result. Hence is the reason why some individuals greatly appreciate when someone they are talking to maintains eye contact.
Lastly, eye contact is essential since it creates some bond between the communicating individuals. When one maintains eye contact, this is an indication that one has nothing to hide and is speaking the truth. Such helps in establishing a close relationship with people.
